bass effect pedal

I need to know what bass pedal I would use for a LA dispute, touche a more, cage the elephant ( mostly LA disputes earlier stuff) and the cheaper the better

Daniel Tichenor's setup is rather basic, but definitely not cheap:

Like most bassists out there, you need a compressor. Without a doubt, the most commonly used bass pedal in existence. Which one you get is not as important as is the fact that you must get one!

Compressors even out your note dynamics so that they sound very much the same (volume level, duration, etc.). Compressors are practically required pedals in a bassist's arsenal.
