So I've been writing a lot lately (for me at least)...maybe a page or so of poems/lyrics every day. But one thing I've realized is that I go back to the same general idea/theme.
Also, it seems that my melodies tend to fit with whatever song I listened to last.... Sorry for vagueness :'( |

bump? This post is two weeks old, but I'm still pretty much at the same point. Sometimes I have really good poems that can be useable if expanded...but I'm always going back to the same themes overall.

What themes do you keep going back to?

sap, filling, closing, "freedom" (in quotes cus it's usually a fabrication), fears, escaping, sinking, melting, and the number two.

Perhaps you could link one topic to another in some way? Or if something happens in your day that leaves a lasting impression on you, write about it.

kk I'll try those and then I'll read more books/poetry/lyrics...maybe I just have a limited vocabulary right now.

I have this same issue. I often write these psychedelic drug and existential lyrics, but I'd like to write in many more different fields. Tough to break habits
