I'd fork out the extra hundred and go for the G-400. The singer/guitarist has one and I've played it for a few songs on a gig or two. It feels and sounds amazing, I'm bent on the 66 Pro.

I bought the G-400 in the end, i got it on Monday, but it had a crack on the neck so i returned it back. Still waiting for the new one..
I didn't expect this baby to be so light.

I'm still debating whether i should buy just a modeler, or a new amp with modeling possibilities though

At least they are making it right

A modeler is a great first amp. It will show you the types of sounds/amps you will want in the future. Then you can get a good amp after you get comfortable and know what you like.

Robbgnarly thanks for all your suggestions mate!

There was no more sg-400 wb or wc at the shop, and i had to chip in 45 more for the same model in black, but with gloss... I've never come across this model

So i ordered it from another shop Let's see when i'm going to have a new guitar...

I also ordered the Digitech RP155 for 80 from ebay.

Cheers!

I got it a few days ago and i got a question for the G-400 owners. How the heck do you play if standing? The neck tends to fall and i have to hold it with my left hand (i'm right handed), which becomes uncomfortable

You answered your own question, you have to hold it with your left hand.

You can relocate the strap button to the upper horn and this will help some (Put it like a regular guitar).

I found that after a little bit I got very used to the way the SG shape sits on me. It is no problem at all now, I think you will find the same

Other than that how are you liking the G-400?

The sound is much better than my previous guitar of course. My amp still sounds shitty and I feel the guitar has much more to give. I hope the Digitech RP 155 will improve the experience, otherwise i have to save up some money and buy a new amp as well..

The neck feels nice with the mahogany, very smooth! Only thing, is that the A string is buzzing sometimes, and i don't know if i should be worried.. I checked for cracks and whatnot but it seems ok. Maybe the action should be different?

By the way, is there any special fluids i should use for cleaning this type of wood?

Just get some instrument polish. Dunlop, Gibson, ect all make a good product.

You could try slightly raising the bridge on the A string side and see if the buzzing goes away. Or have a guitar tech look at it and see what needs to be done to fix it
