Line 6 Echo park sending nothing but static

I guess I should be on the Line 6 support forums for something this specific, but judging from the traffic I was afraid I wouldn't get a response.

I've had a Line 6 Echo Park stompbox in my closet for a while now, and today I thought I'd get it out and see how it sounded in my Peavey 6505's effect loop. All I got was static in a fairly consistent pattern, both with the bypass and the pedal engaged. The guitar signal comes through fine but with no effect both ways. I tried putting the stompbox pre-input with the same result. To the best of my knowledge, it worked fine the last time I used it, which was about two years ago. Anyone know what might be wrong and if it can be fixed? Thanks!

edit: this happens with both with a DC adapter, which I know is the right one, and a battery.

Have you tried running it in front of the amp? Tested the cables? Are you trying it with any other pedals?

Yes, yes, and no. It's definitely something about the pedal in question.

Is the effect working? Even through the static can you tell if it's actually working? Try spraying a bit of contact cleaner onto a lead and repeatedly pulling it in and out.

Apart from that, I have no other suggestions other than it may just be broken.

Yeah, the effect isn't working either. I'm afraid it's just dead. Thanks for the responses though!
