(Vocal+Rhythm) All Along the Watchtower - trying to make the chords sound Hendrix'ish

I don't think I'll ever be able to sing like Jimi, but I'm trying to make the chords have at least a bit of that flavor. It is on acoustic but the neck is pretty thin so it's not too bad, and it's whole lot easier to record acoustic+vocal with just the mic (when you don't have proper equipment)
The guitar is Epiphone's DR-100 (very solid and very cheap, keep on mind I didn't change the strings in a long time so I'm not doing it any justice). The microphone is also a very cheap Shure SV200, sounds pretty nice so far, but I just got it, so I might be using it wrong in all sort of ways.
