I'll tell you what does have playback and play-as-you-edit functionality, though; Sibelius. You know, the industry standard software for orchestral composition and transcription? It's a bit silly to devalue a composition because of a feature the software has. Really, if we're going to go down that route, we could happily say that every piece of music that isn't Beethoven's 9th Symphony is somewhat underwhelming, because the composer was almost completely deaf when he wrote it. The fact of the matter is, a good piece of music is a good piece of music, regardless of how it was written.

I'm not debating that, and I never said that anything written on a computer isn't good music. Literally never said that lol.

Now, can we please stop ruining this gents thread?

Oh, it's ok, it is very insteresting to discuss about this !
(and, practically thinking, this debates keeps my topic on top of the forum section XD)

I think I finally get your point, though I also think my english skills are too low to manage to explain my own one
But yeah, people who write sheet music generally have to think the hole thing before writing it, while GP pro users can do the same of course, but mostly compose "part after part", I guess. Well, at least, that's how I do, but, to be honest, I do not really care about the impressiveness (does this word only exist ?) of the composition process. I only care about the result :P
