I can see what you were aiming for, but overall it sounded like a generic 'album opener' sort of song. Just a really predictable and overused progression.
That neapolitan thing from the last thread was good, use that scale moar :c

Blast beats definitely weren't fast enough, I tried setting the BPM to 300 and that fixed it, see if you like it?

Have to agree with an early comment, the scale used just makes this sound like a pathetic attempt at an atmospheric intro for a generic metalcore album.
That's a bit unfair though because the music was actually quite enjoyable. It seems ridiculous that just because so many people have written shit music with that scale, someone else can't write good music. So erm yeah, I enjoyed it. |

Thought I was contributing to the death of that scale, then I noticed I haven't even written a song based on it Better luck next time, me!

It sounds like something Memphis May Fire would do. Not sure if they actually had but that's the vibe I got. Bleeding Through have orchestra intros on a few of their albums. |

Ok. well i couldnt find anything in a similar vein apart from a bleeding through live video where they do something like it. also

It's just the harmonic minor, everyone uses it... i wasn't really going for metal-core either. ![]() |

Yeah that's the issue, to a group of people who's ears are pretty used to metalcore, when you use the harmonic minor it immediately just sounds like metalcore even if it isn't. |
