From a passengers perspective it was more comfortable than I expected. The interior was very nice. Good seats etc.

From the brief drive I had it felt good. Very much a car dominated by the engine. The steering wheel itself felt nice, decent rim thickness and wheel diameter, trimmed in alcantara. There were a few too many stalks for my liking.

I left it in auto mode and it was pretty good. The usual story that it isn't always in the right gear and sometimes holds onto a gear slightly too long. However it was still very good and smooth.

Handling, I didn't drive it long or hard enough to really judge. It felt like a very big car, but I had spent the day driving the mini.

In terms of performance it was pretty monsterous. I was pinned into my seat through 2nd and 3rd, and I'm sure if we had enough space that would've continued through 4th and 5th. I "had" to overtake a Seat Ibiza on one particular straight that I know well. It went from 30 to 100+ effortlessly.

I liked the layout of the driver information, speedo and tacho were nice and clear. Then there's a decently sized LCD panel in the middle with multifunction that was really easy to use/read.

It really is all about the engine though. It sounds good throughout the rev range and at all throttle inputs. It revs quickly and freely. Has plenty of low down grunt and just keeps going to a sonorous crescendo at the top. All with pops and bangs to go with it. Addictive.

So all the pictures I took with my Nexus 4 are really bad. And my car has bird shite on the hood now. On a more positive note, I've been considering a strut tower bar and master cylinder brace if reason/funds allow.

Anyway, the C63. I want one. It just oozes excess, if it were a person it'd be Andre the Giant on steroids with a German accent.

Save your money for a wheel + tire combo

( That's what I'd do first on a Toyobaru.... )

Strut bar should be a nice upgrade though !

this. the stock tires are garbage juice. (that goes for pretty much ALL sports cars, sadly) your car is being impeded by that shit rubber they hoof it with from the factory.

I got to test drive it because my friend has one.

The gt86/brz was meant to be on low grip tyres. They have changed that now though...

I know its supposed to be all drifty and whatnot, but most people have discovered that that's hardly what its best at. its better suited to be a super-sharp sporty handler.

Yeah they supposedly designed it to be a ''within the speed limit'' drifter , but it's only a matter of tires. You can go up to 255's in the rear very easily on those.

The wheel directory on ft86club.com is a treasure of a thread for all kind of fitments on the twins.

Slap a set of Bridgestone 225 RE11's on that thing. Those tires will rip your head off your shoulders on that light weight car.

Once the wheels on it are worn down, I'll look for something better.... And cheaper than $190 a tire. (On special at TireRack for $160 a pop though, that's not too bad)

Right now I just have the mod bug and want to do a little something to it that won't void the warranty but will make it a little bit more mine.

Then strut / sway bar ? I think those would be the cheapest, yet most significant mods you could slap on it without even coming close to touching you warranty.

There's always shorty antennas and tail light tints/wraps too.
