Trading Music Man for Caparison, good deal?
So I'm getting rid of by Music Mans (JP, Axis, Steve Morse) and this guy offered me a Caparison TAT for one of them. Is this a good deal? I really want that guitar, just wondering financially!

Caparisons are first-rate guitars, and they're not inexpensive. Does it make financial sense? Well; you are trading an excellent guitar for one of comparable quality. From an investment perspective, it is difficult to say. Caparison guitars are not as well-known in the United States, as there are not a lot of distributors that carry them. You'd probably have an easier time selling an EB/MM guitar (at least in the United States) than a Caparison, but if you want the Caparison, then I think it would be a good trade. Just make sure that the Caparison is in good shape, though.
The Caparison TAT is certainly a nice one.

Ask to play it, then make your decision. You could hate how it plays, or you could try it and wonder how you ever got along without it. That'll make the decision easier.

OT: Difficult to say, they are both incredible guitars.

Depends which MM your considering swapping for it. But I'm yet to play a Capa that I would say was a risky on par with an EBMM.
I think a lot of the hype around Capa's is their relative scarcity outside of Japan. The ones I played to me just felt like a good Ibanez Prestige. If your getting rid of all your Music Mans, sell them. Get more money and then maybe consider buying a Capa, as I wouldn't say they are worth a direct swap

To sum up what other people said, using my own advice:
It's a good trade. Play the guitar before making the trade though, as it might be hard to sell if you do not like it.

+1 i've only tried one caparison, but as you said, to me it basically felt like a good ibanez prestige (maybe very slightly better, maybe not). the musicmans/men i've tried have all been excellent.

The necks are going to feel really different between those two guitars. Make sure the Capa is what you are after feel wise.

Okay thanks for your input! The thing is, it's kind of hard for me try it out because the owner lives quite far from here. But I've been thinking it's a bit too risky, since the guitars in question are quite expensive.
I'm having a real hard time selling the EBMMs though. I live in Sweden, where they are not that popular (most music stores here don't even have them in stock). However, Caparisons are even harder to get rid of here, so maybe it would be a stupid move if I didn't like it. Actually, the reason I'm getting rid of them is because of the necks. I've realized that I play better on Wizard necks (as I have an old beat-up RG-1570 which feels better than my expensive luxury Music Mans ). I'm thinking it is because I have really tiny hands.

^ i dunno. i'd have said the opposite. those ibanez wizard necks are pretty wide, whereas the musicman necks are pretty narrow. granted, the ibby ones are super-thin.

That's a pretty cool guitar.
I've played neither, but it's definitely cool.

Yeah, I've thought about that too. But for some reason they suit me really well!

I've had 2 MM Lukes (1 limited edition and one normal), and they were both superb. Not what I wanted, but utterly faultless and played great. I've been through quite a few guitars too, and it's extremely important to try guitars before you commit to them. Quality is only half of it. I should know - I ordered a brand new Custom Suhr Modern and hated it. Quite an expensive mistake!

Yeah I've made that's mistake lots of times. So it's a bit weird I was about to do it again
What I need is probably a real killer Ibanez, I've been through loads of brands, but always tend to come back to that one.
