I feel there's very much a divide in Deftones fans - Pre and Post Diamond Eyes.

I think there are some good tracks on Diamond Eyes, Koi No Yokan feels to me like they're on cruise control.

Personally, Self-Titled is my favourite, closely followed with a joint second placing of Around The Fur/White Pony, with Adrenaline in third.

Saturday Night Wrist is an absolute turd of an album.

B-Sides and Rarities is also worth picking up - some great tracks on there.

I've asked this before but anyway, if I were to get one Alter Bridge album, which one do I get? I like Open Your Eyes, In Loving Memory, Waters Rising, and Wonderful Life if that matters some.

I'd say, to choose between Blackbird or Alterbridge III.
Though you said you like a couple of songs from the first album, I find it much more similar to Creed, yet the two I said should give you more of an idea of Alterbridge.

I haven't heard Fortress yet, so I can't comment

Chaps, I need some advice on Periphery and Meshuggah. I've decided, after many recomendations, to give them a listen, but I want to know where to start.

Don't know about Periphery, but in regards to Meshuggah it depends if you want their more thrashy abums, or their more groovy weird tempoed more experimental stuff.

If it's the former, start at Chaosphere and make your way back through their discography. If it's the latter, start at Nothing and move forwards. I personaly like Nothing and ObZen.

Question:I recently stumbed upon a song by a and called Cynic, which I was enjoying. Though I can't remember the name of the song.

Any album recommendations?

Periphery 1 has a very aggressive feel to it, and is almost entirely written by Misha Mansoor, so if you were interested in Periphery because of him, start there. Favorite Tracks: Light, All New Materials, and Racecar

Periphery 2 maintains some of that aggressiveness, but with a lot of cool melodic stuff going on and significantly improved vocals. Plus there is an increased presence of electronic interludes. Favorite Tracks: Have A Blast, Ragnarok, and Make Total Destroy

Juggernaut is a two-part concept album with a bigger focus on vocals and melodic themes. Most of the songs can be listened to individually but it's best listened to all in one shot. Phenomenal album, really can't say much more about it than that.

If you want an idea of what Periphery sounds like, take 15 minutes and listen to Racecar, or 12 minutes and listen to Omega. Both songs pretty much cover the entire scope of what their sound is.
