tbh i didn't like most of dubliners. i liked most of the first 5 but then most of them fell off and i lost interest, with only a few feeling worthwhile here and there afterwards.

i wanna read some david foster wallace but does he have any great fiction that isn't really long? i don't have time for infinite jest right now lol. and i wanna read consider the lobster but i know it's a collection of essays, what does that mean exactly?

I still need to get this. I'm a huge history nerd (hence my degree in history), so a book with history about stuff from ASOIAF is perfect.

came a few hours ago and i skimmed through it. mostly just looking at the art, which is fantastic.

it pretty much is a history book. there's a whole section at the beginning dealing with everything leading up to King Robert's reign.

oh and it's written from the perspective of a Maester.

can't wait to dig into it.

awright, nerds. Maybe some of you can help me out with a paper.

I need some help with a paper I'm writing. Short version is that there's a world that has no technological advancement in like 10,000 years but isn't stagnant. It's basically in some weird stasis (not literally). I've heard that Baudrillard does some stuff with stasis but I'm having trouble finding what work it's in. halp?

It's on A Song of Ice and Fire. The world has a very large history where a lot of invention happen but they still fight with swords and shit. Better swords but still swords. One of my professors looked over a passage I had on it and mentioned Baudrillard. It was an email so he hasn't gotten back to me on where Baudrillard used that stuff

btw, I think I asked this before but do I need to read Fall Of Giants so I can get what's happening in Winter of the World? I have the latter but not the former.
