Not even close, my friend. Obviously, you have never been shot at, or had somebody try to slit open your gut with a knife or a box cutter. Trust me; it is not fun. Tazer guns work at most 50% of the time. Police everywhere should be armed to the teeth with the most powerful weapons they can carry. Weapons in the hands of the police and the will to use them are the best deterrent against violent criminals. Criminals do not need to be encouraged to carry weapons, or to use them with little or no provocation whatsoever. They do so routinely, and they do so without provocation, and the sons of bitches do so gleefully. Anyone who would attack a police officer should be shot first and investigated later. If they get up, then they should be shot again. Of this, there is no doubt.

We disagree.

Keywords: arms race.

Given the track record of the police in the USA, it's no wonder hboth sides feel the need to carry a small arsenal.

In other news I declare that, with the exception of tapewound strings on the p bass I am currently working on, I will never use a guage lighter than 110-50 on my basses again.

Right? Pretty sure I'd have a hard time playing at all, its my right hand so I'd probably just drop my bass fumbling it out of the case.

At least it's not broken. The nail will come off though, not sure I'm mentally prepared for that.

Be damned careful once that nail comes off! That now-uncovered part of your finger will be unbelievably sensitive to pain, so keep it properly covered. Band-aids and gauze are your friends!

I look forward to that day, I've got a damn splint on now, makes just about everything impossibly awkward and difficult.

Could be worse. Could be a hook:

Patrol officers with weapons have increased due to the perceived inrease in terrrorism. This is obviously why there's more in NI (IRA of course) and far more in London around certain building and monuments. I remember seeing police armed with submachine guns around the Eiffel Tower too.

For US$529.00, I am very interested:

http://www.squierguitars.com/basses...gerboard-black/

The Fender version costs way too much to risk trying it. And the street price of this one is probably less than US$400.00!

I've tried both Std V HH and AmDlx V HH models a while ago when they first came out.

The Standard model isn't worth $1500 as the pickups sound like they've been designed for active system. Also the asymmetric neck felt odd on the Std compared to the AmDlx.

The 5-string with maple fretboard is US$329.00 at Musician's Friend. I may have to go for one. But then I have to decide between the black and the transparent red.

Would that all decisions had such cool options.
