Djur - В Потоках Хаоса Кровей

Good album; could use a little more variety in the song construction department, but certainly not without its merits, especially for a first album. I wish they'd get the follow up done already... What did you think of it?

I've heard it a couple of times prior to ordering, I first came about it shortly after the most recent Khors full length came out, I know that because one of them (I don't know which as he used the band Facebook page and didn't sign off any of his posts) got in contact with me after I reviewed the album, as he was impressed by my knowledge of the Ukrainian scene. So we briefly chatted and he recommended a few bands, and amongst them Djur was the one that stood out most.
It kind of stood out to me in a similar way to Arckanum's ÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞÞ does, very simple and raw, yet really quite powerful sounding. I take your point with the variety, but I think there's a lot of albums from this region that serve as what I can only describe as mood pieces. Like they have a pretty similar style and atmosphere throughout. I don't think that's a bad thing either, as there's something to be said for having an album that's coherent and can satisfy that mood.

^ Ah, thanks. I might try and grab Askival while I'm at it, since Askival rocks and this is pretty much Askival 2.0

A little bit of some snazzy stuff.

Phlebotomized - Devoted to God/Preach Eternal Gospels LP (The Crypt, great buy)
Antediluvian - Logos CD
Sabbat shirt
Mystifier - The World is So Good... LP

There's more but I can't remember what else I've bought. Lots of random stuff. NWN! are making my wallet feel bad.

Well, in last few months I've bought these albums:

Swallow The Sun- Emerald Forest And The Blackbird
Ghost Brigade- Until Fear No Longer Defines Us
Modern Day Babylon- The Manipulation Theory
and Blind Guardian- Nightfall in Middle Earth

I've got many albums yet to buy, but I hope, I'll have every single CD, that I want in about a year
