What kind of speakers do you have that are 6 ohm? Typically they are 4, 8, or 16.

Quasar I think, but they are 8 inch speakers that say 6 ohm on them and read 6 ohm on a ohm test.

An 'ohm test' does not determine a speakers impedance. Only it's DC resistance. Are you sure they do not in fact say 8 ohm? Other than that, no, no way.

I'm sure they say six but mut my amp say 8 ohm minimum
Would my amp still be ok if I wired the speakers together? Last edited by DESTROYER5000 : 02-13-2013 at 02:56 PM. |

What type of amp do you have? A solid state amp will work with higher impedance speakers, so as you're making it sound, if you have more than one '6' ohm speaker, two of them in series would be 12 ohms.
Also, if its a tube amp, don't mismatch the impedance at all, they want exactly what they ask for.

It's a solid state 75 watt and how do you wire them in series?

Negitive to one speakers negitive, positive of said speaker to the negitive of the other speaker and then the remaining positive terminal to the positive lead. Look up series and parallel wiring, good terminology to know.
