Hey, so I'm trying to figure out the acoustic intro (0:00 - 0:04) of this song:


Could someone please help me tab it out? I need it for this "acoustic breakdancing" performance I am doing, so any help would be much appreciated.. It doesn't sound very hard to figure out, but I cannot do it haha

Can you sing it? If you can sing it, you can tab it. Try singing it note by note. Listen through it once, and sing the first note. Mess around on your guitar until you hit that note.

Rinse and repeat. It's only 9 notes, and it all stays in the same position on the fretboard. Here's a hint: It spans from the 3rd fret to the 6th fret on the top three strings. That narrows it down a lot, honestly.

It's in the key of C minor, and uses the notes C Eb G Bb Ab G F Eb D. If you had a solid understanding of major/minor chords and scales, this would be a no-brainer for you. It's just a Cm7 arpeggio ascending and then the C minor scale descending.

Edit: If you want to actually learn something, don't just look at that tab posted right before my post. Actually spend the time to figure some of this stuff out. It will help you immensely in the long-run.

@food1010: Actually I have zero basics in terms of scales and almost any theory whatsoever.. I am from the generation of wannabe guitarists who just mimic a tab or play along with chords. Every time I wanted to start learning theory, I just got overwhelmed by it and ended up just playing around haha Anyways, I am fully aware of the fact that the best way to do it would be doing it myself, but I am quite tight on time lately, so I took the shortcut route. Hopefully, this will change in the near future and I will refrain from asking basic questions

The first step is to learn the musical alphabet and apply it to the fretboard (in other words, learn the notes of the fretboard).

Remember, take theory one step at a time or else you will be overwhelmed and lose motivation.
