As an elder sage of teenagerdom, I have to just say that you need to go for it. Don't be too creepy, just express what you feel about her, what you like about her. It's not going to be the greatest love ballad ever written, but that doesn't matter. Something stupid but true about girls: most of the time all you have to do is show interest, and the very fact that you "like" them will reveal that they "like you back".

So just do it man. Write the lyrics, post them on here, get feedback, revise, and then go for it. You're more likely to wish you had than to wish you hadn't.

here is something I wrote in like 5 minutes once. you can use it, abuse, modify it, whatever. just if you can, post a recording of it. Like Ganoosh said, as long you as you try, she'll appreciate it (unless she lives in Suburgatory It will show her that you are putting yourself out there, exposed. Chicks dig the sensitive side.

When the rain falls, everything soaks from the outside in
You can’t hide or escape it, so just let the fun, let the fun begin
The sun shines, glinting off the leaves
When it gets too hot, seekin’ shelter in the trees

[Chorus]
Aah, Aah, Aah, Aah, Aah, Aah, Uh–huh
Hey baby, come outside today
I wanna see how you’re doin
Aah, Aah, Aah, Aah, Aah, Aah, Uh-huh
Hey baby, the weather’s fine
I think we got somethin’ brewin’

Let’s go down to the park, our friends are all there
Grab your party dress, and let down your hair
I hear the band’s really cool, they got a punk rock sound
And afterwards we can go screamin’ through town

In my new camaro, my friends say it’s bitchin’
Just shake the dust off your lonely affliction
I promise you that we’ll have a good time
When is havin’ fun ever a crime?
