I was gonna say, hookgrip probably isn't needed for deadlifts. Besides, if you get up to higher weights you look look like a badass without a belt/straps.

IMO if you can rep 10kg more just by using hook grip instead of normal grip with deadlifts, do it. your back and legs will benefit the most of it. everyone here goes nuts over grip strength like it's the holy grail in fitness, why don't try and lift more even with help of a technique? you're gains will thank you.

and can't you just switch hand placements while doing heavier sets?

played some half ass badminton last friday, kinda put my hip out of place (does this pretty often when i run/cardio stuff)

tried doing squats tonight, 190lbs but something didn't feel right so i only did 2x5 190lbs, 1x5 185lbs then stopped there cus it was feeling bad

overheard 5x5 75lbs, couldn't quite get the last rep of the last set up tho, muscles failed. most likely cus i didn't rest enough between sets

185lbs deadlifts 2x5

135lbs deadlifts 3x8

2x20 20lbs wrist flexors

2x15 25lbs wrist flexors

the shitty hip and sprained ankle that isn't quite yet done healing put a damper on the session tonight unfortunately

oh well

Good, if its "legitimate" pain then its stupid to push through it. You'd have likely only hurt something and put yourself back even farther. Missing a workout or having to make it lighter than usual isn't worth the injury.

I haven't been posting a lot in here lately. I'll try to get back on it.

This morning played football (american) with some coworkers, about an hour's worth of light sprints.

This afternoon did back and bi's:
1) 3x10 TIY's with rings
2) 3x10 35# weighted pullups (shoulder injury didn't bother me as much as usual)
3) 3x8 95# one leg BB deadlifts
4) 3x superset 315# BB shrugs w/ BW pullups
5) 3x superset BW back extensions w/ 70# curls

Hip injury (hip flexor strain) bothered me a bit during and after the football.

I haven't posted in here in forever but I've still been working out a lot. I haven't been going for heavy lifts or anything though and have mainly been running and doing body weight exercises, and some free weight stuff. Getting really defined looking all over now. Stomach is still kinda meh, but my arms, back, shoulders, chest, and legs are looking good if I do say so myself

Can now do pullups in sets of 20 which I never thought in a million years I would be doing. Wasn't too long ago I couldn't even do one!

These next few weeks are going to be mainly close grip bench and pause squats. My bench was actually failing due to tricep weakness, so I'm planning to improve that.

Dread 1 leg DLs are one of my favourite posterior chain exercises. Great core/ham/glute movement

Yesterday was supposed to be a run, but it was raining like crazy so I didn't do that.

Instead, did 20 intervals on Jacob's Ladder, 100ft each, 1 min rest in between, using only legs.

So far today:

1 mile run (approx. 7 min pace) immediately followed by 3x hill sprints. Did that for three reps, no rest, and everything back-to-back. Took about 35 minutes, last two miles about 6:45 pace.

Got abs to do later, will update.

Yo chaz, did the EC stack cause you to break out at all? Finding mixed answers online. No acne on my face, but noticed more than usual on my shoulders here recently.

Don't really remember. I have pretty bad acne all the time, but I can't remember if that made it worse. I don't think so though.

I actually stopped eating all dairy other than kefir to try to reduce my acne. It's working, but I haven't really adjusted my diet yet to compensate, so I'm not eating a lot and I'm lethargic all the time.
