So that band I've been depping on bass with have now asked me to actually join full-time. This is a very good reason to buy a Bass VI, I think. Although they are a country band, so I shouldn't really be playing anything other than a sunburst Precision...

Bass VI is way more exciting though.
I vote upright with pedals though.

Play a giant rubber band, Tombe. One end under your foot, the other end in your mouth to keep it tight. This way you make this face all the time:

Just don't confuse the ends.

Haha! Or perhaps I need to construct a washtub bass... Then run it through a fuzz pedal.

Go for the Bass VI. You'll feel better.

Minimalist setups rock, I'm glad it's working out for you.

So...my band got signed to an indie label from Baltimore called Bad Taco Records. Looks like I’ll be spending a lot more time in the Mid-Atlantic region(well, more than I already do).

Using Google and finding a couple of threads on bass forums where people say they're fine for doing country stuff with has convinced me. Should I not have one by November and need more convincing, Kurt Vile's playing in Brighton...

Never been there, almost went a few times, but I have a few friends that have played there. Sounds like a cool venue. I'd show up, but I'm celebrating birthday shenanigans and don't plan on being able to drive that night. good luck dude!

Thank you! It's still a little surreal to me but it's been a week since we mailed the contract in and they announced it online so it's starting to feel real.
