Wiring advice?

The other night I took apart my tokai super edition strat (mid 80's), to fix one of the pickup springs, did that - now my tone pot hasn't been working for a while now so i had a look and saw that there was a wire coming off the top that wasn't going anywhere, and i can't figure out where it should be going, could you help?

Thanks in advance!

looks like the ground wire to the bridge to me

one end should be grounded, and the other is attached to part of the bridge or trem assembly

One of the ends is attached to the top of the tone pot - should the loose end be attached to something on the volume pot, cause if it wasn't there wouldn't be anything joining the tone pot to anything? (sory for the noobishness)
