All I did today in the gym was swim a mile. Took me 36:00, which is about 9 minutes faster than the last time I did, which was my first time doing it.

I'll deal with that. Apparently my one mile swim time is comparable to my 5 mile run time, and my 1km swim time is comparable with my 3 mile run time. The swim takes me a few minutes longer for both.

Pretty much this. The majority of people just need to get off their ass and eat better.

Same reason I don't hate on people doing Cross fit, p90x, paleo, etc.

You know, I used to be one of those guys that went to the gym, almost never worked out my legs, and then complained every time I did.

Now I squat every workout, and it's just not that bad. Tomorrow my 5x5 will be at 225 pounds on squats.

I need to find new exercises to do. I get so tired with the same ones. Has anyone heard of Soul Cycle? It's some new exercise craze that's growing in popularity. I think it looks fun and would get me off of my butt....but there's no areas around me that have it. :/

Double plate 5x5 is so satisfying. Taking this week off of them though to focus on Deadlifts, and I'm doing a deload to 195lbs next week though but scaling up by 20lbs a week until 235lbs.

Back to lifting as I start university and have free gym access. Currently weighting 72kg and probably around 16-20% fat. 177 height. I dont have any serious muscle mass so cutting would be stupid. Cant bulk much tho because I got 4kgs because of corticosteorids (prednisone) and my face bloated..

I guess Ill stay at maintenance for a month or two and get some noob gains..

Swimmy swims again today

1) 10x50m intervals, 20 seconds rest in between

2) 5x100m intervals, 60 second rest

Damn high school swim team kids in the lane to my left smoking my times. Little bastards.

Doctor suggested that I stop pectoral exercise for about 6 weeks, so I can't bench in that time, which basically kills the staples of my 5x5. I can still OHP though.

That said, this seems like a good time to spend a month doing accessory and hypertrophy work and get swole instead of strong for now.

Can someone suggest me a hardcore hypertrophy routine? Also, an ab workout routine would be good to start on now too.
