Stairway is required on any list of anything involving the words guitar or song, I believe Congress amended the constitution in order to put it into federal law.

"Soak up the Sun" and "Wonderwall" are on the same list as "Yesterday?" Gimme a break.

There are a lot of great songs on there, but it seems like a pretty silly ranking. Where are the songs by players who play acoustic songs regularly? James Taylor or Johnny Cash? Do they only count it if the artist generally plays electric?

Ocean - John Butler Trio
Waiting - City and Colour
Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton
Layla (Unplugged) - Eric Clapton

Those should be on the list.

One that should be added is "you turn me on" Emerson,Lake and Palmer, Brain Salad Surgery. It is a beautiful song.

alot of those songs have quite a bit of electric in them, IMO any list containing acoustic songs should be about 90% acoustic guitar with the exception of some soft fingerpicked electric bass if no upright or acoustic bass is handy.

Any list is subjective, but it does seem like they missed a few.
Here's my 2 cents, I would add;

When the Children Cry - White Lion
Anji - Davey Graham
Annie's Song - John Denver
Any Robert Johnson song

No way should Andy McKee be on that list. As good of a player as he is, his stuff is really pretty middle-of-the-line for that particular field. I much prefer Antoine Dufour, and respect him much more as a player and writer, but even I still don't think he should be on that list.

Like someone said above, I'm surprised Robert Johnson isn't on there.

In my opinion, those aren't good acoustic songs. The majority of them are good songs which happen to have acoustic guitar parts in them. Acoustic guitar gets sidelined again.

EDIT: Also, it just came on my random playlist and it should definitely be on the list:

From The Beginning by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer

It's a pretty good list. A lot of the songs I play on my acoustic are on it.

@tom183 - the intro to Stairway is played on a 12-String and sounds fantastic on a 12-String Acoustic.

A lot of the songs on the list were originally recorded with a full band and electric guitars. That doesn't stop me from playing them on an acoustic, and some of them sound better that way, I think (e.g., Glycerine).
