Brand New (GP5, GP4, MIDI)

This is something I had been working on for a while. I never knew how to finish it until today. My brother will be providing vocals so the verse won't be nearly as boring as it currently is. enjoy!

also, the 7/8 part at bar 53 is played like this:
L = left hand
R = right hand
1 = index finger
2 = middle finger
3 = ring finger
4 = pinky
Code:
1 2 4 2 1 2 2 L L L R L L R

hey man, this is really cool. its refreshing to see something with interesting chords and melodies in this forum. i especially liked the chords in the 7/8 measure and the intro and first verse thing were awesome. i loved everything up until measure 22. the next riff was cool but not my favorite. i really like the melodic runs at the end too

C4C?

You my friend have a strange concept of what's boring, because nothing within that song was even remotely boring to me.

I've really got nothing useful to say. I loved it though, and I think you managed to do with 3 tracks what most people couldn't do with 10.

I really wish there were more of these kinds of songs on these boards.

This song has the best groove i have ever heard from any songs on this board.

It really is amazing. Just, I mean, no words can describe it, as someone said above, you've managed to do something with 3 tracks some people can't do with 10 and i do applaud you for that.

The bass seems really hard, I don't know, maybe not...I'm not a bassist.

Overall? 11/10 (It's really that good, and I don't even like this kind of music)

Good stuff, man. I really liked the chord changes. The melodies we're very cool. It reminded of Silversun Pickups, if they were fronted by John Petrucci rather than that other guy. Good stuff. Really chilled and melodic. 10/10.

As I listen:

Intros good.
Scratch that; intros great!
Wow; the verse really works, and flows. Possibly one of the best things I've heard here on UG.
Overusing verse a little, but it's fine
The little bridge thing (21 and 22) didn't work for me.
23-25 was good, but just didn't fit; too fast.
26-30 was okay.
That little pre-verse bass fill is pretty cool.
Back to the verse, which is fine by me; it's really good.
The solo thing starting at 53 is pretty cool.
Build-up/slash outro starting at 63 was cool.

Overall, it was really impressive. A couple parts took away from it overall, but it was still, all in all, amazing.

C4C? It's in my sig, preferably Project 34.

Good rhythm man, great use of chords. I agree that the bridge part around bar 21 sounded off though, the 7/8 didn't seem to fit (for me at least). When it picks up the tempo right after that part though it is great. I also enjoyed the tapping part at the end.

Overall, the 7th chords add that great mellow feel, and the fills were good.

Sorry it is not much crit, I cannot think of anything real specific that needs work, great job.

Intro - This is alright, a little bland. It all changes when the bass kicks in though, whatta bass line!

Bar 11 - This is so funky! It's pretty danceable

7/8 - Love the bass chords, you make it all flow, brilliant!

4/4 - Not alot to say to this, just good.

7/8 2 - Another good use of 7/8, it flows really well again.

Overall - Really good piece, great work!

Mind critting one of mine? http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1122463

Man this is amazing... definitely not my genre but it's very good! The intro sounds really familiar to me though, not sure where I have heard a similar thing.

8/10, and could you please rate my song? Link is in my signature. Thanks!

I dunno what to crit really. All the things I wanna do to it are minor... like more little drum fills in the part where it just hits the closed high hat 8 times so as to break up the monotony. And the chorus (in my opinion) should be distorted and the second time you play it it should go twice.

I'll attach my changes to it. I hope you don't mine ^^;

Though I will say this: It temporarily made me forget about my problems and smile :] Good job.

9.5/10 (because of my little qualms)

Wow, i am actually really impressed. I didn't think people had the ability to write like this anymore. Though it pretty much all stayed in scale and in one key, you managed to make it sound original, and give it a songwriting touch that i feel is missing from the world. The only thing i didn't like isn't your fault - Guitar Pros clean tone gets very annoying, it would sound good if in real life it had a touch of distortion.
Nice job man

I liked what you did with it, especially the fill at bar 32 (I think it was bar 32. I already closed Guitar Pro). I just can't bring myself to use any distortion in this song though. I think it would ruin the spirit of the song.
