Guitar Payment Plan

Say I wanted to buy a guitar I couldn't afford at GC. Do they have a payment plan type deal where I can slowly pay it off? Do you need a credit card?

You need to be 18, and have a credit card, but make sure its the 0 payments 0 interest, otherwise youre screwed.

I get almost everything through american musical supply because of their payment plan. You need a debit/ATM card for that.

Oh, and they don't charge interest

yeah you have to be over 18 and have credit...they basically issue you a guitar center credit card that can be used for anything in the store (most things are 0 down 0 interest for a year)...if you dont have credit you're out of luck or have to have ur parents

I would go through musicians friend. They have a monthly payment option and they have great prices.

If your 18 and have decent credit GC will give you a card. I usually pay mine off ASAP. If you can get the no payment and no interest plan. Sometimes it's as low as 90 days and sometimes they give you a year. My rule with CC is pay them fast if you need time try and pay it off withing 6 months no more than a year. MF has a credit card as well and if you live in New England Daddy's Junky music also has a CC. Of course I have all three! LOL

If you can't afford the guitar, then don't buy it.

And high interest rates as well from what I've heard.AMS breaks payments up into 3 or 5 equal monthly installments depending on the price of the item and you don't need any special card from them or anything like that, just a standard credit card.

Alex, that's an assinine thing to say. I've bought my most recent guitar, amp, and pod X3 live through American musical with a payment plan. Not because I couldn't afford it, but because rather than saaving for 3 months and then getting my guitar, why not get it now and pay over the course of 3 months?

I have about 1400$ a month left over after paying my bills. Rather than spending all of that on one month, why not spread it out over the course of a few months. Thanks to these payment plans, I have a savings account with over 20,000$ for a house when I find one. Don't be a jerk alex. If you aren't going to contribute in a positive way, why don't you do me a favor and off yourself. Please

Nostalgia. 2008 was a crazy year. Or a refusal to read and acknowledge when things are no longer relevant.
