That was filmed in Festival Place Basingstoke. Heh, they got it trouble for knocking over that manikin and the marks on the floor are still there iirc. My sister was in the studio for that episode too. Also, smoke grenads, not smart Clarkson is a complete tosser unless he's asking for a smoke. Lastly, I wish they'd stop destroying classic cars. The Polonez pickup they destroyed is incredibly rare now. Only 17 left in the Uk. |

They've always put brilliant music in the show, actually, they use great moments of flim-score, too, and the cinematography in last night's episode was amazing. It has become a bit celebrity driven, and overproduced in recent years, but I really don't mind. I know there's a fair amount of scripting, as there would be, but at least it is written by Jeremy, James and Richard. I still love the programme, the "practical and realistic" test of the latest Fiesta was absolutely hilarious. "Can I afford it? Well, if you have over £11,000 to get a decent mid-range model, then yes, you can!" This latest series was much better than the one in the Spring, too.

I think the series that was on over the summer was the best one for ages, the Alfa Romeo challenge was hilarious! You've got to love May and his Dacia Sandero as well.

Top Gear rules
My personal favourite was the amphibious cars crossing the channel. Oh, and James' attempt at flirting the other week. That was priceless.

No, the summer series seemed a bit too samey, for me, the Dacia stuff was funny, but it happened every show, and got pretty old. The Alfa challenge was great fun, though.

+1, its all way too scripted now, i've chosen not to watch most of the series thats just finished. but the vietnam one last night was pretty good, since alot of that couldnt be scripted. Quote:
i agree, they chose it because it was all from the vietnam war era, hendrix, the doors etc. Last edited by Azwethinkwedo : 12-29-2008 at 12:20 PM. |

I swear there was a thread like this a few weeks ago....
I liked the Vietnam episode though, and the Ford Fiesta test too.

Best moment so far is when you first see Clarkson using his in-car shower in the American episode.

It's always been scripted and structured, and nearly all TV is. I don't mind the fact that it's structured and planned, since Clarkson, May and Hammond all write it themselves; if there was no script, it would ramble and be filled with silences where the presenters don't know what to say next.

For some reason I absolutely pissed myself when they were talking about the car merchandise christmas presents and Richard pulls out the wizard's sleeve. I have no idea why I found it so hilariously funny.
