I didn't have the ability to make my own, but found a company that builds custom boxes for dirt cheap. I got both the 1x12 and the head boxes for $215 including shipping. They're real nice! Check them out on ebay http://myworld.ebay.com/2688abe&ssP...:MEFSX:SELLERID

Well, if you installed a new OT and also an ohm selector, it means you can use different cabs with it, as opposed to just 16 ohm cabs, and that's where your tonal difference would be...
