So I'm not really good with the whole shoegaze band thing yet, but I love this band and I think they're shoegaze.

The Book Slave from CT, check 'em out.

Has anyone heard Earth? I felt inclined to investigate them after a review in Guitarist. Turns out they've actually been around for nearly 20 years... I suppose they class as shoegaze, maybe dronegaze (that's a genre I just invented), sort of like Wooden Shjips but massively slowed down and with some awesome guitar sounds.

Enjoy occasionally controversial ramblings related to guitars? I have a blog which meets these criteria.

Earth shoegaze?
Never really thought of them that way, since they were basically the pioneers of drone (the name Sunn O))) is even an Earth tribute).

+1

Earth are more doom-drone.... stuff.

I'm listening to Paramore at the moment, so my full judgement may be a bit clouded.

B.R.M.C.? I would never have classed them as shoe gaze...

Awesome band though.

When Jesus comes back for the apocalypse riding his black horse, I for one am hiding behind Dylan Carlson and his stack of Sunn cabs.

Earth will destroy all with one fell swoop of Carlson's almighty Telecaster.

Post updated with BRMC.

Earth are deff a doom-stoner type band. If you like them check out Pelican.

So what shoegaze album have people been listening to? Astrobrite has been at the top of my list, lovin noise!

Air Formation- Daylight Storms has been spinning a lot recently.
Along with Have A Nice Life- Deathconciousness, which gets pretty constant plays.

I like Earth, a lot more than Sunn O))), probably because they at least make an attempt to not constantly mimic the sound of a refrigerator.

Oh and a good band you guys should listen to is Secret Shine, it's really good MBV-esque dream pop, and it's REALLY catchy.

I still don't see A Place to Bury Strangers up there...

I'm actually listening to Slowdive more than anything these days, especially some of their more spacey material. I'm slowly (very slowly) putting together my own space-rock/shoegazing rig right now.

A lot of bands on here aren't, but The Jesus and Mary Chain are usually lumped inwith shoegazing, even though they preceeded the scene by over five years...
