Great audio only link from the HTGTH forums, DJ and BBF nail the solos so well. Axl has a bit of trouble with the verses as usual (but they are difficult) however for the last choruses, Axl holds no prisoners and belts it out fine!
TWAT - Dublin http://soundcloud.com/gnrbootlegs/g...here-was-a-time P.S: Best GNR song period. Last edited by GezzyDiversion : 05-19-2012 at 08:03 AM. |

Its good to see not everyone got stuck in 1987 and some people appreciate Chinese Democracy.

I'm not a fan of the new GnR. Mainly the guitarists. They have some skill no doubt, but from some of the videos I've seen of them on youtube they ruin the songs at times. Missing parts of solos in a GnR song is like having a massage without a happy ending. It's just better with them.

Okay I am very annoyed with Ashba changing the This I Love solo because "it translates better in a live setting"
Just admit you can't play it then or say you wanted to put your own spin on it. Don't come with some nonsensical rubbish about guitar solos that work on record but somehow not live. IT'S A GUITAR SOLO

Birmingham show was good, Estranged, Civil War, Better etc they took the arena by surprise by coming on at 10:20pm, 10mins after the changeover had finished from Thin Lizzy!
Brilliant show, Axl was in great spirits, cracking a few jokes etc. |

![]() Awesome. Axl was suffering from bronchitis in '11 so he didn't sound his best but his voice seems to be back in shape now.

Went to the first night at the O2. Best part of the night was definitely seeing Izzy. I've just started digging 14 Years recently, so to hear that was pretty cool! Axl sounded a bit crappy on a few songs. In my opinion knocking on heavens door is too long. They should do it how they did it during the UYI tours. It just gets boring. Other than that, the show was fantastic and the whole band sounded tight. Izzy and Fortus were like father and son!

For such a guitar heavy album, there aren't many tab uploads for the CD songs.

Yeah, now that I think about it during the concert back in 2006, Robin Finch really screwed up the guitar solo to Welcome to the Jungle. It started off okay, but then I guess he wanted to "take it in a different direction." But then he slowed it down and and began to do things that didn't even sound at all like the original song whatsoever.
It was quite a bitter disappointment. ron666 ![]() |

Get the official tab book! It's greatly transcribed. Has all the vocal melodies as notation and some keyboards tabbed as well! Only funny thing about it is that some of Bucket's killswitch licks are interpreted as him turning his "amp tremolo" on for a few notes Also agree with CD being GN'Rs most guitar heavy album! |

Axl was great on Kimmel last night. Really relaxed and funny, you could tell he hadn't recovered from his strep throat though, his normal baritone was more nasal and thin than usual.
Really cool interview, it is up on Youtube. Edit: yeah the '93 Argentina show is one of GNR's best ever. Stunning stuff.
