Severed's Radio Mix: Angel's Bane: Corruption

http://8tracks.com/severed/angel-s-bane-corruption

Part 2 of the grand series, focusing more on death metal/grind this time around over black metal/hardcore. Probably going to be a little bit of a send off for me as I'll be preparing for school and won't be around my computer all that often.

It is kind of shitty that it changes the mix list everytime, but if you have any information you want to know, don't hesitate to ask. I know everything.

Next on the chopping block:
25/8/2014 - Kyto the Betrayer
01/9/2014 - AnnihiSSlateR
08/9/2014 - ChemicalFire(666)
15/9/2014 - KirkAsking4Satan

Molested and Cryptic Tales were straight up sick bro.

The requiems were cool and kept a nice theme going. Overall everything fit together well and it sounds like a believable, self-contained conceptual work.

I'd definitely recommend Blod Draum and Valley of the Dolls (which is FAR weirder and more amazing than the track I posted), but thanks sir. I've realized that if I don't mash-in tracks to add some sort of contrast, I can't make a list that satisfies my instincts.

If you want the files, just say the word and they will be yours.

Intro was a nice mood setter I suppose.

Loved the Mozart, I've been looking into requiems a lot lately, and I've finally gotten round to Mozart's which is something special, even if there is dispute to how much he composed. Not my favourite movement, but Dies Irae seems apropriate.

Molested aren't doing it for me.

Cryptic Tales seems to be all about the riff, which isn't a bad thing, and it's a decent riff. Not sure how much I could listen to it, but one of those 'nice when you're in the mood' sort of tracks.

Nice to come back to the Mozart again. Again nice choice when pertianing to theme. Presumably one last cry for redemption before the final onslaught.

Bethlehem, perhaps apt or ironic considering the Christian connotations of the requiem mass. I've never listened to them before.

Blood passed me by, didn't even realist it had been on.

Immortal Fate was much the same. Not bad, just not my thing.

Cryptopsy were a band who seemingly passed me by on my death metal binge last year. It's actually pretty solid and I think I'd like it a lot more had I got into it back then and let it settle with me. As it stands I think when the mood takes me I might lsiten mor,e but I'm not rushing to it.

Nuclear Death, bit of a racket, but in a good way.

...and back to good auld Wolfy. Nice Plagal cadence with the amen to tie up the mix.

Not always my cuppa, but I certainly can't fault the effort.

I was actually thinking of doing a requiem mix. Like picking a part structure and doing a collage of various composers requiems. But I've already got an ambitious 4 part mix for my next 4 slots.

Checked the playlist out last night. Really need to listen to Blod-Draum more, and Valley Of The Dolls is certainly amazing(especially the title track and Koukounaries). The requiems in between every few tracks was neat and I need to look more into those.

And Bethelehem, how I have forgotten about ye. <3

Thanks for the bumps, fellas.

Yeah Neil, I was actually contemplating not including the grindcore and stick more to meaty, slower death metal. I can see why you're thinking what you are about the grind though because I thought the same things myself, as
I don't think it matched the pace as well nor the atmosphere. Might just stick to a grind list some other time and adjust this one, but thanks for the critique.

Thanks Morphogenesis, you should definitely listen to more Bethlehem. Master of your destiny and all that though. I rank Dictius in my top three black metal albums of all time, where Dark Metal is like top five at any given time. Like I said, if you want the music I have it all.

Alright, it's getting desperate at this point. I'll stop saying I have the files.

But I do. So, you know if you want em. Any of you. Really.

I've not gotten Bethelehem's material yet, so how about you send some of that my way.

Everyone cheer for desperation!

Thanks, man. I'll give it all a good listen today during my therapy workouts.

Akercocke was a good intro

Mozart Requiem Mass, which I've conducted before so of course its a classic

Love the riffing on this Molested song

Cryptic Tales was alright, didnt care much for the production (WHOA CLEAN PART OUT OF NOWHERE). also, I lol'd at the cowbell and what I think was like a generic flute sound

This is still mvt 3 lol

This particular Bethlehem song really doesn't mesh well with everything else.

Blood was great. Loved the vocals.

Immortal Fate was meh. Im not a fan of slower death metal. That shit can drag on forever.

Alright so sign me up for the next free spot
