Evile
They're a Thrash Metal band from Huddersfield, UK.
I listened to them tonight after watching a Rockworld.tv program - battle of the bands style and I thought they were awesome. Your thoughts on them? |

I heard a song that sounded ALOT like Angel of Death... ish not too much just a perception thing... didnt really care much for them haha... something something of the dead... in one of their songs sounded alot like Angel of Death.... anyway... just being a nub I guess but yeah.......

They're a bad ass band, got their CD on iTunes a couple weeks ago... been listening to it pretty much non stop since.

 Huddersfield is rather close to me, I saw them live a while back. KICKASS, seriously.

there's already a thread, but it is a ways back. awsome band, one of the better new thrash bands in my opinion.

This band played a free show at a pub near me, all I can say is booooring. There are so many better modern thrash bands, I have no idea why everyone goes ape over this one.

I tried all their myspaces, and didn't like any of their vocalists (except there were so many "cauldron"s that I didn't listen to them). It's all preference I guess, but I'd take Evile over any of those, although I obviously haven't seen any of the bands (including Evile) live, so I can't comment there. |

The only problem I have with Evile happens top be their vocalist, actually.
He has a nice yell going on, but it's just real monotone; and all his lyrics take the same pattern and structure. Still... BURNED AT THE STAKE!!!

YES they're awesome. Some people say they sound too much like Slayer but I don't really care, they kick so much ass

I am a HUGE Evile fan, they're possibly the best brand new thrash outfit around - and they're British. I discovered them last year, and "enter the Grave" is one of the best albums I own.
Vermintide, I actually love the vocals, the shout is the epitome of thrash, I agree with the monotonous value of it - I think it'll improve with age. I'm definitely seeing them on Gigantour with 'Deth and JFAC.

Such an argument could be applied to a band like Municipal Waste, for example, but when a band takes their re-hashing of Kill 'em All and Bonded by Blood as seriously as this band does, it just becomes tedious, in my opinion.
Plus I've seen them live, no energy whatsoever.
