Either those or Spiders, Cubes, Voxes or Laneys. Oh with a good dash of 6505/5150s too

Put it all into a bowl and stir with a whisk. Place in the oven for 30 minutes at 200C. Tastes like BLUARGH.

The Valveking sounds good with a speaker swap!

/repeated slogan

Seriously, the VK gets way too much hate/rape on these boards. I still use mine at gigs and stuff A/Bd with my Rocker. Good tone, honestly.

---

Anyway, on topic: If I were to get a Diezel (and its a big if at the moment condsidering my financial situation) which one should I get? I play funk metal with my band, and I'd like something to compliment my Rocker.

Also something compact(ish) if such a model exists. Maybe a short head of some kind? Cab not an issue.

Hmm... funk metal ey? That's a new one. Well, I've not played the Herbert or VH4 yet (hoping that The Bass Merchant will have some in for their opening to try them) but from what I gather, the VH4 can be preety versatile due to the amount of channels and the completely seperate EQs for each one - but the 'stage 2' of the Stein is pretty... idk how to word it, it's got a fair bit of gain on tap but it's not as brutally voiced as channel 2 or mode 3 on channel 1 so I suppose that's a contender too.

Not sure about the Schmidt though - maybe that's one to wait for and check out as that 'looks' like a lower gain amp (to me anyway) yeah it's a horrible way of guesstimating but hell to it, and the head looks quite short.

The VH4 I tried had a very... 'cutting' clean sound. It was somewhat like Fender or Hiwatt but a little bland if compared to one of them directly. But, it had incredible attack and definition, which helps for funk I guess.
So the VH4 might qualify.

I'd probably go with the Einstein for "funk metal," eventhough I have no idea what that means

The VH4 just isn't my thing, imo the Soldano Avenger I played next to one sounded better The Herbert is a different story though...

Cool, I hope they get a Schmidt/Einstein in for me to try. The Herbert and VH4 look like awesome amps, and were I the kind of guy that needed awesome versatility then I'd probably be drooling over one, but TBH I'm looking for a two channel or even one channel amp here. I barely use 'clean' cleans, even the cleaner stuff I play is usually slightly dirty.

EDIT: You know, whenever I tell people the genre I play I get confusion...

We're doing some recording in the next couple of weeks, I'll post some clips in the WTLT Thread or something...I must clear up the obscurity of this genre! The way I describe it is imagine a heavier, older RHCP with some chugga chugga. Maybe that helps

Haha sweet sounds awesome.
Yeah I think the Stein would be a safe bet for your whacky genre of 'funk metal'

Does anyone know the pricing of the Schmidt 15W head? I don't think it could possibly be over $2000... right?

I would seriously doubt if it was that cheap.

I have no idea though, I've never even seen or heard of anyone that has one
