I've never been to keen on white LPs to be honest, but I'm sure it sounds great

Nice man, I love Eclipses! Ive played 4 of them, and Ive loved them all. Sadly I can only afford the LTD EC 1000, which is still the best guitar that I have ever owned.

I played a flamed wine red one of these last week and it was good fun to play. One does get a good *chug* out of these beasts. The 6505+ that I was using it through left me a little unenthused, but a good, solid and well made guitar. I wouldn't complain if someone gave me one, as I already have a fixed tailpiece SG with EMG's in it, but it wouldn't be my choice for next guitar.
Nice axe. I hope you didn't have to wait too long to get it back from Japan. Presumably that's where they sent it. Maybe they "sent" it to ESP and got their tech to put a new 60 in it. ![]()

^ yeah sorry about that, I did feel a little guilty as a whole year for a GOTM would of been pretty damn epic!

Looks like a great guitar! How does the neck profile compare to a typical LP then?

imo it's just alot more comfortable and easier to play em.. it is thinner and feels faster like and now that I've worn it in a bit the paint on the back feels awesome and really smooth. It's hard to think though as I haven't played a Les Paul for ages and i'd really need to play them side by side to tell you much more.

If you could play a standard Epiphone/Gibson Les Paul at some stage before playing your EC again it would be greatly appreciated
![]() I personally LOVE the heaviness and feel of a Epi/Gibby but the ECs get so much better rep, and I want to know if I should shift alliances ![]() Very nice.

i'm kinda curious, my eclipse was made in 2007 in japan and has four control knobs instead of three. i bought it in germany if that makes a difference? also eclipses are awesome! i have small hands so the thinner neck is really comfortable only downside is that a lot of models ship with EMG pickups, would've been cool to have more options

Where you bought it is no bother. The japanese models are not weight relieved and have an additional tone pot. Assuming you have the Eclipse I CTM?

differant colour but same guitar as yours yeah?http://www.thomann.de/gb/esp_eclipse_1ctm_sw.htm I believe theses are ones that are not aloud to be sold in the USA because they are too similar to the Gibson Les Pauls in looks due to the 4 pots and the lower horn being the same shape. The original pre-Gibson-lawsuit version of the Eclipse now called the eclipse I is still available in Europe though. The Eclipse II has a slightly different lower horn with a bigger cutaway and the different control set-up (only 3 pots), the Eclipse I is an almost an exact copy of the Gibson Les Paul, just with EMG's and without the pickguard of the Les Pauls

hmmm... what year is yours made in? The specs on Thomann may just be from the 2003/04 sites as you can't find that guitar anymore on the new ESP site as it's an American site and the law suite stuff and so on. Looking at the archives they seem to of moved onto the 3 pot design in 2005 and they don't have the option of them with an 81 set. The 2005 version with the 3 pots are still using sperzel though and they don't start using Gotoh till 2007. So yeah thomann must just not of updated there info and are using the old specs form before they were all fitted with Gotoh. edit* this is yours http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/75382 there's some sweet looking guitars on that site http://www.espguitars.co.jp/oversea/index_gt.html great find man =D
