You're not helping me at all and you're being a complete pain in my balls, so I'll just listen to you. But I haven't gotten any sleep because I've been doing the lessons all night, so I'll do it later when I have time.

I'm starting a new series of video lessons on exercises and my own personal favourite exercises. Here's my playlist.

Hi people!

I'll be posting a lot of useful stuff on my YouTube account. Now I'm recording some useful lessons for all levels, from beginner to advanced. There will be a lot of things about picking technique, left hand technique, improvisations, solos, writing music etc.
I hope that this will help some musicians, and I really think that this will be really informative, fun and useful.

My chanel on YouTube is ultimateguitar666, I hope you'll check it.

On ex4 the open sweep, what were you doing on the up stroke to mute the strings?

The idea is that you drag your middle finger slightly behind the rest of the hand so it mutes the string just after the one you're playing.

I wouldn't worry about it too much though, it's hard as fuck and takes the 'belt-and-braces' approach to an extreme. If you can do it then cool but if not, it's cool; using other parts of your body (like your other hand) to mute those strings is fine.

This is a good song for practicing fingerstyle picking (for example the John Mayer style).
I hope you like it.

Depends how your mind works. Personally I'm find with learning whatever bits of a song I want to learn and forgetting the rest, whereas some people really don't think you've done anything right until you can play the whole song pitch-perfect.

As long as you end up learning what you want to learn then does it really matter which way you do it?

I am trying to do "The Rack", exercise one but I am having an extremely hard time with it. I'm very uncomfortable already doing it just at the 12 fret!

Of all the alt picking songs that are listed, what would people recommend as one to look at as I'm recently getting back into guitar playing more?
