great post...there's a lot of awesome music to work from here. I also recommend Troy Stetina's Speed Mechanics for Lead Guitar and check out Mark Tremonti's The Sound and the Story at Fret12.com, I think there are a lot of valuable exercises and lessons from a variety of artists.

When you say "Stanley Jordan-Anything", do you mean any song of Stanley Jordan's or a song by Stanley Jordan that is called Anything?

I think one of the best ways of starting out with sweep picking is the song Towards Dead End by Children of Bodom.
It's a really simple 3 string sweep perfect for beginners. |
