The sticky is now in this forum renamed "READ THIS STICKY (guide to all techniques)". It's just the tabs from that arranged into GP.

Hey FP, do you ever plan on posting the "What song to work on _____ technique" thread here? I'm hankering for some string skipping songs

great post...there's a lot of awesome music to work from here. I also recommend Troy Stetina's Speed Mechanics for Lead Guitar and check out Mark Tremonti's The Sound and the Story at Fret12.com, I think there are a lot of valuable exercises and lessons from a variety of artists.

Sorry for unrelatedness, but whatever happened to the "cool licks" thread in advanced techniques? I figured I might find it in here or something.

Sorry, died in the forum move and it'd be a bitch to resurrect, plus it'd be tricky to give credit where it was due.

When you say "Stanley Jordan-Anything", do you mean any song of Stanley Jordan's or a song by Stanley Jordan that is called Anything?

I think one of the best ways of starting out with sweep picking is the song Towards Dead End by Children of Bodom.

It's a really simple 3 string sweep perfect for beginners.
