Use a metronome, and make sure all notes are articulate.

It depends on how many strings the sweep picking involves, really.
The more strings, the more difficult, obviously. I'd say start slow, with a metronome. And work up speed, making sure to mute out the strings not being played after striking them.

firstly. go onto youtube and search for some tutorials, a lot of them are very good. especially the one by mark seal, or i think that was is name.
once you understand the correct practice, start practicing with a metronome. you can get arpeggios from a lot of sites, like this http://www.all-guitar-chords.com/arpeggio.php. make sure you play really articulately man, its one thing that doesnt help to slack off with :P. oh and if your going to be sweeping insanely your going to need your pinky to be pretty good. You don't need to be accurate if you're sweep picking. |
