Blackstar HT-5 Owners Thread
This is a thread dedicated to one of the best, no THE BEST, low watt amp on the market currently.
This thread can be used to declare your ownership, share settings, help with problems, convince people on the market for new amps, photos, and pretty much anything else. ![]() Combo Version ![]() Mini-Stack (^By request of Jezuzfingerz) http://www.guitarcenter.com/Blackst...746-i1435429.gc Demo's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQyS...re=channel_page - This is mostly a hard rock demo, never mind all the Marshall heads in the background because he's just playing through the cab. - Just some guy reviewing it, shows some nice versatility. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gbmr...feature=related - A guy playing it who also shows how versatile it is, he uses a bunch of different guitars and plays a couple different styles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDFQ...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i_a...feature=related - Both of these are metal demos without any gain boosts, it has as much gain as most should need and with a boost enough for anything you throw at it. What type of cabs do you all run it through? I've had mine since January and i run it through 2 stock 1x10 blackstar 40w cabs. I still have the stock tubes in there too, but as soon as they blow, i'm going to start experimenting. Hopefully I can also get a new cab, either a 4x12 or 2x12. ![]() People to Listen to in this thread: k7apex ch0 Carrot TOMMYB22 People in the thread with absolutely no experience or help in the thread: Jezuzfingerz Also, for everyone who enters this thread, don't listen to SPANKY MAGEEE, he's just a troll To All Spammers: On page 20 there is a warning from a mod, there have been too many spammers within this thread. Great amp. Had mine for little over a week, very happy with it.
I've got clips of the clean channel on my profile, tell me what you think. There nothing fancy, just a general idea of the sound. ![]() I'll post pics later ![]()

Put me in the "will be getting one soon" category. Played one at the local mom-n-pop and I needed a towel to wipe the drool off. What a great little amp!

Yay! I have a Blackstar HT-5!
And to let everyone know, I have used it at band practices, and it did fine. I'm definitely gonna do a few small gigs with it. ![]()

How much more gain do you want? I'm a gain junkie as well, and am considering buying this amp for metal. Would an OD boost be enough to send this little puncher over the edge?? The clips on youtube sound pretty darn gainy, so I'm thinking yes, but it would be nice to hear from a fellow gain-monger just what the amp sounds like in person.

I will be getting one in the summer. Anyone who has this amp, can you take some detailed pictures of the back panel?

Mine is on backorder as well
It seems that the head is in stock, but the standalone cab is not in stock. The mini half stack and the cab are both due to be in stock on 6-15, so I'm assuming its the cab that is keeping the half stack backordered. This doesnt make sense to me because I would think an amp would be harder to keep in stock than the cab. Do you guys recommend a 12 inch? or is the 10 inch that comes with the half stack fine? I was thinking of sticking a 10 inch celestion greenback when I get mine. |

Got mine feburary!!
Got the head, and a Marshall 2x12 1936 cab. I reccommend getting the head and a 2x12 cab. not the mini cabs you can get with the head. awesome amp, really is.

Dude, seriously? It's an over price piece of equipment that's only single channel and is highly overrated. All this is is utter spam. Quote:
It's decent with lighter stuff, but it doesn't have alot of headroom. It start to break up at around 12 o'clock with volume, but you can easily get by clean in your house or at a miced gig.

tbh theres a lot of gain on tap already and with a decent OD pedal you can get alll the gain you need it probs does sounds better when its louder but ive only been up to 3 at home i just wouldnt have a bad monkey with it thats all not the best of pedals tbh but try what you like =]

I currently run a ibanez ts-9 and a electro-harmonix big muff through the front to get a nice strong distortion and fuzz sound. Though the effects loop i put my cry baby original, FAB flanger, and a digitech digidelay. Everything runs through it without a hitch.

I love the tone of it. I'm thinkging of getting one, but I just got a few questiond for you ownerz.
Is it loud enough for practice/small gigs? How loud can it get? How much headroom does this have? If its not loud enough for my needs, I'm gonna go with one of these: Valveking B-52 AT-112 Triple XXX Laney GH50L
