This is an owner's thread. Obviously you wouldn't post or read in here if you didn't already own it. Either that or you wrote your title wrong.

king diamond is a 80s band, they played metal and wikipedia just calls it heavy metal so not a great description haha. i think andy larocque (the guitarist) uses tsl 100s
EDIT: to k7apex

You really don't need to be trolling around and posting in threads that you have no useful contributions in, anyway if helping other people out helps them become owners then i'm going to do it to help clear-up all the clutter in the forums about this amp. Quote:
My youtube is acting up right now, so it's crashing everytime i'm starting a video. I'm pretty sure though after taking a look at them that it should be able to reach their level. I'll give you a more accurate answer once my new computers comes tommorrow.

I had a listen to some King Diamond (reminds me of one of the dudes from Repo!) and I'd say the HT-5 should be able to do a pretty convincing cover.
Edit: Of course, my post is assuming that you've got a guitar already geared towards that kinda metal...

Yea, the guitar is definately going to be a help in achieving what your looking for, same with an eq or something. You can't expect the amp to do absolutly everything.

it would definately be the head i would get, for more versatility. do you reckon with a 412 it would be loud enough for a small gig haha?

The HT-5 with a 4x12 would be loud enough to play a house party... Maybe...

not gigging yet, but all the local bands can get a place on emFest which normally has around 200-400 people, dunno about a PA or anything, but this wouldn't really be a deciding factor on this amp as much as a perk really

just your best cranking it at a loud music shop lol
other than that a PA is your best bet but the HT-5 isnt designed for gigs just bedroom and studio

Well, it's able to be gigged with, you just need to mic it through a PA. If not, then it's limited to the studio and bedroom.

GlitterPaws...
This thread has had people posting (and therefore reading) this thread, people who don't own this amp, since the first page. You suck at logic.

Don't worry guys, glitter paws is just someone who goes to my school and lives by me. All he is do is trying to bother me and make this thread useless to people who are actually looking for help. I know how to take care of him...

don't worry anyone can see hes an attention seeking troll. i'm sure these people are very sad people in real life, devoid of any kind of relationships with people anyway, i've got a chance to try one out sometime next week, and hope that i can get great tones out of it EDIT: would you say its better to buy the mini stack for 400 or try and haggle for just the head (i dont think they sell them alone) and a 212 speaker?

They sell the head separately. So, yes, get a good 2x12 to go with the head. It would sound much better than getting the full stack.
I wonder if they're ever going to cancel the Blackstar 10" cabs. Since they kinda pales in comparison to even the most budget 12" equipped cabs and everything.
