Another great place to get goodies and IR's too is the GUITARAMPMODELING website. Also I bought Overloud's TH1.1 - it's gotta be one of the most realistic sims I ever heard - try their demo and you'll see what I mean. Since I got my Boss GS-10 I hardly use any software amps anymore but I still love TH1.1.

Yeah I've been looking at those and I will be adding more sims to the list soon.

First tutorial is uploaded. Enjoy.

ANY CHANCE OF HAVING THIS STICKIED?

Guitar Rig is a pile of crap, end of discussion.

I've been playing with the demo of Revalver III for some months now and to he honest, i like it less and less every time i launch it.

I was the same with me, then I got told a few tricks to make it sound good.
I'll be devoting a section to Revalver once I've done some more research on in-depth tweaking.

This might be a stupid question but how can I play real-time with the VST tone? I mean you plug amp to pc with clean tone, right? But when Im gonna record I dont wanna play heavy riffs with clean tone. Can I play with distortion when Im recording?

I hear ya,
thing is, i've been through all the tricks and tweaks and i still find myself less and less impressed with it as time goes on.

also, the IR unit in Revalver sucks ass in a huge way,
another annoyance is that there hasn't been a single patch or bug-fix since it was released over a year ago.

ultimatly, im hanging on for another few months to see where this whole amp-sim racket goes next. Overloud TH1 is on my "to-try" list as soon as i sort out an iLok.

you do record with the distortion since its a vst its not a final. static recording its dynamic, cause you record your di, then your di gets processed so you hear the distortion not the clean guitar.

replace TSS and 7170 with a real tubescreamer and one of your amps' preamp out or fx out and youve got yourself some good **** there eric
try it out and let me know how it goes
i said it'll probably help your micing.
once youve compared your own micing to an impulse of a really well miced cab (especially as well miced as the impulses i linked to) then you know what youre looking for

About Guitar Rig.

It's freakin' awesome, but the presets kinda sucks. With some tweaking on the amps, it sounds good.

I have tried revalver, it was dissapointing
Amplitube Fender, sucked

Guitar Rig FTFW!!!

EDIT for myself, did i say this, GUITAR RIG SUCKS!!!

you use total clean guitar, you do not use your amp at all.

But my Line-In cable goes from PC to my Amp Direct out. Must I use Guitar Rig or Amplitude to play with distortion? Because when you play with them and record It catches only the clean sound

I've heard some absolutely horrendous tones done with Revalver, and many that have dropped my jaw perhaps even a liiittle bit more than really good tones dialled in on REAL amps.
If you can't get Revalver to sound good, chances are it's something you're doing wrong.

And also
I dunno about any of you guys
but I'll take http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/631208/B...n%20Master8.mp3 this guitar tone over this one any day.

Maybe not the fairest comparison ever, but I can't find any mixes that sound pro, or nigh-on pro that use Guitar Rig. I wonder why?

Hypetreme, I'd recommend downloading TSS, 7170, keFIR and using the settings I posted in the first tutorial. I supplied a clip of how those settings sound as well.

Yes I downloaded them and thanks very much about this tutorial. I got some good tones created. I think too that Revalver offers great tones. Its little better than AmpliTube.
