Deathcore thread! (Read the first post before you post)
Ok, tried this before, determined to try again.
Deathcore belongs in the metal forum, set out by many mods as a guideline. No stupid "deathcore is gay" posts, I will report you. I'm sick of them. No "take it to hardcore". Deathcore is not hardcore. Nor does it contain any decent elements of hardcore. Breakdowns are not a defining feature of hardcore. So, let's talk deathcore. If you're a fan of one band (most likely The Faceless, All Shall Perish or The Red Chord) or a sucker for tons (like I am) or even if you just have a soft spot for the gay clichéd ones (BMTH, JFAC, WTC, etc). Post, my minions, POST! P.s. Mods, please, I'm trying to keep the spam levels to a min. It belongs here according to the rules, we shouldn't have to wander over to the hardcore forum just to talk about a few bands that a few regs reckon are gay. edit: Ok, few basic things. Job For A Cowboy: Doom EP is deathcore. Probably the best example of deathcore ever. Genesis is death metal. Ruination is death metal. I don't care how gay you think they are. They're not deathcore anymore. Bring Me The Horizon: This Is What The Edge of Your Seat Was Made For is metalcore. Count Your Blessings is deathcore. Suicide Season is metalcore. The Black Dahlia Murder: Unhallowed and previous demos straddle the metalcore/deathcore line better than Jenna Haze. Miasma is melodic death metal. Nocturnal (and by the looks of things, Deflorate) are melodic death with technical influences. Technical Melodeath maybe? Either way. Not core. All Shall Perish: Hate, Malice, Revenge is deathcore. The Price of Existence is deathcore. Awaken The Dreamers is deathcore. Stop calling it prog you bunch of idiots. More sweeps and a few clean sections does not equal prog. The Faceless: Akeldama is technical/progressive deathcore. Planetary Duality is technical/progressive death. No core anymore. That's all, folks!

So I gave the new Suicide Silence album a listen. I like it, considering I didn't like the cleansing.

Bleed From Within! My favourite of the new crop of Deathcore bands, they may not be doing anything new, but they put on one deadly live show and have some great riffing.

Not too impressed with the new DI, I must say. Think it's taken a bit of a down-turn.

When I saw them at Day Of The Dead a few months back, ended up standing backstage for their set. New song has a huge breakdown in it, builds up, CJ got up on the foldback, pause;
"I'LL TAKE YOUR FUCKING CUNT!" *sub drop, breakdown* ![]() So good.
