try right clicking on the file you want to zip, then click send to...and then there should be a "compressed folder" option.
I don't know what window's you have and which version it doesn't do it on, but try it.

I'm thinking of cleaning this thread up a little and "stickying" it... after the contests are over.
So post any really good info you have on how PTab works. ![]() |

No, but after reading every freakin' post in here (its a mod's life... lol) I find the idea very intriguing to say the least. I write sheet music (notation) for a number of small things. I make a few $$ on the side writing and/or recording backing music for local television commercials. I make anywhere from 6 to 10 - 30 second songs a year and I even get referrals, so it all works out fairly well. Anyway, I just thought that PTab seems like another tool that I might have a use for. I suppose that I'll be downloading it and seeing what its like. From what I'm reading... its not like notation, where you can write codas or fortissmo... whatever... but you get "button" controls to change things around. Can you control songs in PTab down to such a fine line... just as I can when I'm writing? |

you add the notes in tab, but it also places the notes in standard notation above. It takes a while to figure out, but it has everything a keyboard composing program does. All the musical direction, codas, D.S, D.C etc...
You can change time signatures quite easily, tempo is pretty simple too. Dynamics are a little wierd, so I tend not to use them a whole lot...I don't think it matters much in powertab, i mainly just make everything audible...As well as that, its got the guitar related stuff, like slides, harmonics and taps... I think it'd be best for you to just download it and try it out...I mean, worst comes to worse...you don't like it and you delete it?

if your computer has more than one midi card you can change the sound by going to the midi menu at the top of the page and clicking midi setup.

Take the powertab file and ZIP it. Then upload the zip file to UG.
