NGD Charvel SanDimas2 (pics)

I wanted a new USA production Charvel with the Tele body. Custom Charvels start at $3000!! so guys are buying the production models to mod and are selling their new leftovers. It took me several months of collecting parts but I built myself this guitar for almost 50% less than the cost of a new one.. and every part on it is brand new. It sounds and plays like a dream.

Dive-only, non-recessed set up. Well actually you could have a bit of pull up but it would be very minor.

It's a shape I didn't have. I tried out real Teles and I loved the feel but it's not really my kind of sound. The Tele shape in alder makes this a really heavy guitar so it sounds different than a strat.

Well, that totally defeats the point of getting a Floyd...
Why not just get a Wilkinson or something? Easier to palm mute on too.

I like Floyds, and Charvels typically have top mounted Floyds.

Thanks.

The bridge pup is an experiment. It's a Dimebucker. $90 I think. A guy installed it for about 10 minutes, hated it and sold it to me for $35. That guitar is really heavy and thick sounding and the Dimebucker is notoriously razor sharp but lacks bottom. In that guitar with my amp it sounds great. (but I think it might sound like crap in a modeling amp)

'59 in the neck. First one I've tried. Fabulous.

Better tuning stability. Although the Wilkinson is a very nice trem, and with a good nut and tuners it would have great tuning stability, it still wouldnt be as good as the Floyd.

Also, very sexy guitar TS, I like it a lot. Good colour too.

*facepalm*

You can have a fully floating wilkinson too, doesn't that eliminate the need for floyds at all?
