Repairing Paint Chips
I don't know much about guitar paint jobs but is it possible to repair/paint the chipped paint in the edges of my guitar? If so, what is the process, what kind of paint? Thanks

Is it a ding in the paint or a chip in the actual guitar?

The paint is pretty thick. It's a chip out of the paint. the wood is untouched.

Under most circumstances, you DON'T repair them. If your guitar is of any value, then don't. Any repairs will detract even further from the value. The damage is minor and does not affect the sound.
Consider the chips, scratches, and dings as character to your guitar.

ahhhggg i hate it when people cry about about a little dig in the paint work it doesn;t matter as long as you don't damage the pickups,the guitar is fine. Honestly dont deliberately make dings in the paitwork, but don't cry when you do!

If you punch a hole through a wall, it becomes a window, If you chip your guitar you've not really changed anything. I know, this is old, but I just felt that logic had escaped this thread that needed that to be pointed out retrospectively. I love me a good necrobump, I imagine someone sitting at their computer night after night, pondering their reply carefully, or storing up anger for years and finally, they decide to reply and what they say is... that...?
