Messages when banned

Since people in the FOTB never seem to have access to their email, would it be a good idea to put any active warnings in the crimianal status widget and maybe even send them an automatic PM?

That has been discussed a few threads down. The one titled Instant Warning Notification. Go check that out.

Actually, it doesn't.

At last check, it wasn't working properly when a user was banned:
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...5&postcount=178

Dmitry was on holiday, so it's likely not fixed quite yet.
Soon, though.

That's weird. Last time Dreadnought banned me, it worked. And it wasn't too long ago that it happened.

Isn't that what your ban reason was? Al mine said was "sdf", because that's what I got in my email. So, it's not broken anymore apparently.

Not necessarily. Those are insta-bans.

Common ban procedure:

First warning: Message with reason for warning #1 sent via email.
CS widget shows reason.

Second warning: Message with reason for warning #2 sent via email.
CS widget is updated. Reason for warning #1 is removed.
CS widget now shows reason #2 .

A few moments later...
Ban is issued: Message stating reason "2 active warnings = ban" is issued via email.
CS widget is updated. Reason for warning #2 is removed.
CS widget now shows reason "2 active warnings = ban"

The user won't have a chance to see the reason for the second warning on the CS widget.

The reason YOU guys were able to see the reason was because the process was different, because of the instaban. Insta-bans are not the norm.

Perhaps it has been fixed. But I suspect not.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up.
