The scenes with the siblings together struck me as really 'Malickian' the meandering camera and Bach really reminded me of Malick. It's a really beautiful film, every time I see it, it feels less shallow each time. Wish that I had made it.

Went to a screening of Vertigo at the old downtown movie theater last night. The second Hitchcock movie I've seen, and the second time his movie supposedly had something supernatural going on, only to turn out to be some sort of scheme, leaving me disappointed that it didn't stick with the supernatural concept. Still an entertaining movie though.

Both are great, but you really have to be in the right mood for most Von Trier movies. True Romance you can kind of throw on at any time and get something out of it.

Yeah, especially that Antichrist.

But Von Trier's definitely one of those directors that I need to watch more from.

So I've got nothing to do tonight so I'm going to watch 50/50, Funny People, and uh, whatever's on TV. Oh, and I might re-watch American History X later tonight. I hope at least one of those movies aren't completely terrible.

Like, that's all I can say about it. It didn't overwhelm me or underwhelm me. It was just everything I expected it to be and that's what made it so great.

saw Looper today and liked it a lot.

JGL did a great job mimicking Willis.

tonight's episode of Dexter was slightly better than last week's. and all i have to say about Homeland is "awwwwwwwwwwwww shiiiiiiiiiiiiit!"

Saw the Expendables 2 today.

Complete and utter shit. I like action movies, but this was really just a shitty B movie with lots of action stars in it.

Heres a list of things i enjoy and things I dont enjoy

Enjoy:

Pan's Labyrinth
Almost Famous
District 9
Donnie Darko
Iron Man 1 and 2
Anything with Anthony Hopkins, especially "The Worlds Fastest Indian" (if any of you have netflix, definitely watch that)
V for Vendetta
Both Hulk movies
Captain America
...and probably a bunch more. Im terrible at thinking of great movies on the spot.

Movies I really dislike:
The Avengers
The Dark Night Rises
Green Lan-turd

Because I had really high expectations for these movies and they let me down sorely.

Anyone agree/disagree?
