Official UG Search BUGS Thread
Dear users,
Please take part in testing a just launched new version of the website's search, which we have been working on during the past few months. Just head over to http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/search/search.php and search for a desired song and/or a band! Let us know your thoughts on: * The layout. Does it look better than the old one? Do you like the new interface? * The usability. Is the new search easy to use? Do you find the related search suggestions relevant enough? Any feedback is much appreciated, leave your comments below! i totallly like it, for the searches i tried it came very good, and the references are also helpful. Couldnt find any bug yet

Good, but I think the font/names are too big.
If they were smaller it would take less time to scroll all the way, and I think it's better to read that way anyway. I liked the size they were before better. But, kudos for making it, I still like it. |

It's totally awesome, specially searching tabs when you put the band name after song name.
Also in no matches page, "Are you looking for..." is amazing. It would be much better if you add a auto complete system for song name.

I searched for "Sweet Child O' Mine" and Guns N Roses cam up as three sperate bands. Otherwise, love it.

at first, I didn't notice much of a difference, but then the subtle differences made it nicer- and you can choose to only see high rated tabs!

It's very nice, but I find the 'Type Filter' bar to be slightly too broad, if you scroll down a bit there's this huge empty space to the left (excuse me for being nit-picky). Other than that I love it.

It's not working for me, when I click the link it says 'No Results', and when I use the search bar at the top I can't see any changes, so I don't think that's it.

except I think that the 'Related Searches' should be on the left hand toolbar...only because that top toolbar is too big and somewhat in the way..idk I'm just not really liking how big it is. but overall I like it! -frusciante08 |

Loving it - the fact you can now search band and song in the same thing really narrows down searches! (e.g. one, metallica, used to get about 1000 results for band or song)
I do agree i liked the old font size better though also having related searches on the side might work too Good job though  EDIT: i like it also now does less than 3 letter searches, don't commonly use them but hey! EDIT2: how are the results ordered? they're not alphabetical anymore are they? i just searched "led" and got a bunch of tabs for stairway to heaven, then a load of other random bands, then all the guitar pro stairway to heaven versions after, look a little odd :s Last edited by doive : 12-17-2009 at 09:49 AM. |
