About a third of the submissions have at least ambient elements in them. So yeah, it might be the first genre specific album to be released. Also, any progress on our lovechild?

I need a free .AU drum machine. I can't keep using GarageBand's drums and expect to make a decent beat for Do it Live. Anybody know of anything?
Don't sent me to KVRAudio, I've been there.

iDrum perhaps? It's pretty basic and loop/pattern based which suits it to live playing. You could always invest in an old hardware drum machine, a lot of decent ones go for around $100 these days.

SteveHouse, do you want one which goes off midi input or one which is spereately programable? If you want the midi input one, take a look at battery 3. You can download the demo for free iirc, the only difference between the demo and the full version is that it only comes with 2 kits instead of about 80. But you can use your own samples anyway so that's not a problem.
Not 100% sure if that's right, but I think it is. |

I can probably submit some new ambient stuff, most of the stuff I do in the electronic real though is either evant garde or industrial, don't know how well that would fit with most of the stuff I've heard on the albums, you can hear some of it my profile.

any generic multi voice sampler should work ok TBH, also you can get a shim to run UB VSTs in logic or garageband, which means you can get more free stuff. Last edited by Kid_Thorazine : 01-03-2010 at 09:13 PM. |

xavier: I looked at iDrum. Don't remember why I decided it was no good, either, but I did.
entity: Thanks, I'll check it out. Kid_T: Send it anyway. We're open to anything. Our only criteria is that it's well-produced, basically. Now explain this shim business.

the shim you are looking for is made by FXspansion, I'm not sure what it's called exactly or how much it costs, google the companies website for more information.

FXPansion VST to AU converter is a hundred bucks. If you know of a free equivalent I'll love you long time.......

no, I don;t, mainly because I don't use a Mac, apparently recent version of logic have one built in, but that's all I could find off hand.

Before I start working on songs for the new album(s), it would be great if I could get some feedback on the songs I made already. They are on my profile. I'm gonna try for a D'n'B song next, so I'll keep you posted on that as it goes.

Sup, y'all?
Cool idea with the remixing thing. If anyone wants to collab. for future albums, my ideas currently are in a song uploaded onto my profile as a work-in-progress. |

Hey guys. I've done Music Technology at A Level for 2 years now, so I have a pretty decent understanding of the basics of Electronic Music. I have used Reason and Logic Pro to do this in my course. At home, I have just got a REAPER and I'm wondering if anyone else uses this? I'm finding it pretty difficult to start off with.
Also, can anyone link me to good freeware VSTi's? I really need a good synth and drum machine. Thanks! (Also, on my profile my "space compostion" is the best MIDI track I've created. It's supposed to be a piece of music that represents an adventure in space.)

I use reaper. I had a couple of demos up which I did with reaper but I took them down now. What kind of synth are you looking for? As for drums, try battery 3. |

Thanks mate. Captaincrunk told me about Analogue Warfare which is pretty good; I quite like it. But I would also like a synth that has a sort of "rave" sound if you know what I mean?
