Post your Set Ups!

As the title says, I'd be interested to see what everybody else uses.

My set up has been funded by student loans and grants at the moment, I'm currently doing a degree in Music Production.

So anyway here it goes:

Alesis Multimix 8 USB:
An 8 track desk and audio interface, plugs straight into my computer . It can get 8 tracks recording at the same time onto separate channels on the software.

KRK Rokit 6:
A recent edition, my friends dad supplies these to a lot of shops where i live so they were a steal. The frequency range soaks you in sound!

Logic 8 Pro & Mainstage:
Been using Logic for years now and I still can't make a single complaint, I used to use cubase and Reason but I found Logic to be a lot smoother and user friendly

Mainstage is fantastic too for authentic guitar tones

Yamaha Keyboard:
Its a generic old keyboard but it's currently functioning as my MIDI keyboard using an Edirol MIDI interface.

Mics:
Sure SM57 & 58
Paired Behringer C1's

Not an ideal selection of mics, but they're great for recording my Guitar and Vocals as well as getting some stereo recordings of band practices.

Currently thinking about getting a D.I box so I can record some proper bass and get direct in's for other bits and pieces

Disagreed. I've found that what I've been able to get out of my Mbox with Pro Tools has been far worth the money. Besides, there are way cheaper setups than the Mbox and the 003s. Check the M-Audio line, sure, its not Pro Tools LE but Pro Tools M-Powered is essentially the same. They run around the same price as the Presonus gear.

Also, the Mbox and 003s work with all DAWs, not just Pro Tools.

^ my mBox has been crashing my system for two years now. That piece of equipment is directly related to my system crashes, and ProTools is overrated. You can get a higher quality interface for the same amount of money and get much easier to use DAWs that deliver the same quality as m-powered and LE. I only bought mine because I was taking PT classes in college.

+1 sorry lockwolf, but protools is overated in the way that people think they're stuff will sound better in protools rather then Reaper. If it works for you , more power to ya. But to the average person, thier money could be better spent on other software or hardware items.

I am quite new to music tech plus i'm only 16 which means I don't have huge amounts of cash to spend.

So mine is:

Apple iMac
Apogge GIO interface
KRK Rokit 5's monitors
Blue Icicle XLR to USB converter (soon to have)
Logic express 9
Ez Drummer
Drum kit from hell expansion
Vintage rock expansion
Novation sl-mk 2 midi keyboard
Seinhiser(sp?) dynamic mic for acoustics (really need a new one!)

All my amp sounds and pedals that I use I can easily manipulate using the amp sounds and pedals in Logic's plug-ins, which is handy

Works for me =D

Any improvement suggestions are welcome
