David Bowie Thread
I was searching the forums for places to talk about Bowie.... and stood flabbergasted as I found out there wasn't one! (Mind me if there is
)What I find so amazing about Bowie is that he's a real artist: I don't think he's in it for the money. And come on, 24 albums in 36 years, (one album every 1,5 year) is something you don't see anymore. |

....and he died at age 52.

I was a fan but I haven't liked anything since Lodger or Scary monsters (1980)
I met Mick Ronson though and got his autograph...RIP. |

David Bowie is one of my favorite artists. It's too bad you don't hear many people talking about him too much anymore.
I'd say my top three favorite albums by him would be 1. The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars 2. Space Oddity 3. Aladdin Sane but Hunky Dory is pretty close to 3rd. Woo!! |

Only really liked him in the Ziggy years, then he went downhill and started making songs like lets dance.
Can't knock his early stuff though. Delboy |

idk, i guess i havent really dived into him yet but my dad bought me the collection-album "CHANGESBOWIE" after which i downloaded his discography (shame on me). but i havent got the time yet to really listen to them well - nor has my ipod got the space for me to just fill it with bowie.

I love David Bowie, last year I went through a pretty big Bowie phase. I love all his early stuff, up to about mid late 70's, not to big on his newer stuff

Get out, Let's Dance is a great song. Love the guy, but he needs to hurry up and tour again, or I'm going to turn up at his house and make some demands.

To be totally honest, I like Iggy Pop's The Idiot better than all of Bowie's actual albums.

While The Idiot is one of my favourite albums of all time, even I would say that's a bit of a stretch.

I have been listening a lot to bowie lately so it'd be nice to get some discussion going.
What are your top 3 bowie albums? For me: 1.Rise and Fall of Ziggy 2.Let's Dance 3.Hunky Dory/Diamond Dogs I like let's dance btw. It's phunky as shit. |

What a guy. I love hearing the non-radio edits of his songs on the radio. Young Americans!

Bowie is amazing. I love most of his albums. Station to Station is epic. He's great until the 80's arrives, but some of his 90's and 00's work is good.

Definately one of the greats. I like his albums with Brian Eno the best. Station to Station and some of his earlier music is also very good.

Only hipsters say Low is his best.
But yeah, it's pretty good.
