The ultimate NGD--It's here!-Story added!

I'm going to post mass pics right now. I feel this is necessary. Im not going to type the backstory just yet, I want to go play it for a while I'll edit this with the story though. Anyways...

To those of you who saw the teaser post and guessed, I guess now you finally get to see what I have been waiting for, and I'm sure some of you have. So I present to you...

Breedlove Master Class Phoenix!!!

Hand built by Breedlove luthier Jason Bowerman. Inlay work by Kim Breedlove.

Top Wood: Redwood
Back/sides: Ziricote
Binding: Bloodwood/herringbone

There you have it folks. My brand new, life long partner. I am absolutely BLOWN AWAY by this thing. I'm going to try to do a GOTM soon, so I'll talk more about the tone in detail, but damn, so crisp and warm. What a canon too. Huge thanks to Branden Carpenter & the folks at Breedlove, as well as the folks at Breed forum. I would post a giant smiley face pic here, but that's the max number of pics allowed in a post ahaha.

I LOVE THIS GUITAR!

The story:

Back in October, I got the Breedlove Bus to come to my work via talking with my friend Kyle down at the factory. I became friends with Branden, the guy driving it and one of the Breedlove Reps, and hung out on the bus all day playing the guitars. There was this Pro C25 model that I really liked, it had no electronics and was marked as a blemish, which I was fine with. He took the guitar back to Oregon with him, and I tried figuring out a way to trade my atlas for it and stuff with my boss, but had no luck. I gave up trying to get it due to tight money situation in my home. I guess the people on the Breedlove forum wanted me to get it, and so did Branden, except apparently they wanted me to have something better, aka, a phoenix.

APPARENTLY, at about the beginning of November or so, Branden, my boss, and parents started talking, and Branden informed them that the Breedlove forum guys started a fund along with people at the factory to buy me this guitar. I just had to sell mine and chip in a certain amount. Understand that I didn't know about this plan at all for around 2 months. One day my mom sat me down, and explained it to me. I almost brokedown, but I thought it was all a joke. I never asked for anything even close to that, or ever expected it in my wildest dreams. It was something unheard of, I felt like I was on Oprah. I felt incredibly blessed to have this happen to me.

I guess that's the story. Hope you find it as incredible as I did. The folks at Breedlove know how to take care of their people.

Aha! I guessed correctly!
This looks godly...that's really the only way I can describe it. I think I actually like the look of the ziricote with less of the sapwood, and more of the dark wood.

That thing is a beauty. Can't wait for the story and review. I must say that although I'm not much a fan of that bridge, the pin-ess aspect intrigues me. What is the 'technical theory' behind that?

Thanks everyone. Im going to save the review for the GOTM I want to do :P As far as wood goes, yes, Redwood top with Ziricote back/sides, bloodwood binding with herringbone as well.

The bridge is fantastic. It's one of the breedlove aspects that always intrigued me. I'm not sure functionally what it does differently, but it might put less strain on the neck, not sure. I'd have to do some research. I might record something tonight if I can!

The pinless bridge means that, of course, there are no pins. That's the main thing really. I suppose you could argue that it helps the tone, because the tension of the string is completely embased (is that a word?) in the wood of the bridge, without any pins taking energy. How much that effects the sound though, not sure.

Lies! all Lies! Pin-less bridge has nothing to do with the number of pins-or lack there of!

All in all it makes it look so much sexier, classical looking, mhmh.

I second this statement. That guitar is beautiful. It's so beautiful, it functions as a mirror. Very nice guitar.

We want soundclips. or at least I do.
