Alright, I made the logo in Photoshop earlier but now I'm remaking it in Illustrator even though I don't know how to use it. lol

So anyway, I was wondering how to connect two different letters http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto..._110203_n.j pg and how to give it this look:

As long as the two objects have the same fill and no stroke, just move them over eachother and they will look connected. If you still want a stroke, join the two objects, copy it, increase the size a little and change the fill to the color you want the "Stroke" to be.

You can do that with some careful use of the blob brush tool.

Off the top of my head:

1. Use the type tool to create the text as you normally would.
2. Type > Create Outlines -- this will convert the characters into paths that you can modify
3. Ungroup the characters and position them as you like.
4. Use the blob brush tool to connect both characters -- this will "link" them into one path

From there, you can apply whatever effects you need too.

I'm not super awesome at Photoshop, but I'm trying to learn. I'll return to this thread when I am super awesome at it.

In the case of the R connecting to the S, I would just extend the length of it's leg by copying and pasting, and distort the end bit so it curves.

Here's a step-by-step:

Obviously, you'll want to spend more time on it than I did but you get the idea.

As it is at the moment the two letters look a bit spaced apart. How about instead of extending the leg of the R, move the S upwards and left so that the upper curve of the S fuses with the leg of the R?

I think i already have something like that but don't have the patience to go trough it. I'm not totally awkward with illustrator tho but I'm very used to photoshop and it just isn't the same :P

this is something i made a few years back with PS... pretty big image

Use the levels adjustment tool to get rid of the dark areas within the clouds so that leaves you with grey and white colors. Then Transform/scale the clouds to completely cover the entire image. So now you should have 2 layers: The cloud layer on top and the original image on the bottom.

With the cloud layer selected, double click it to open the layer style menu. In there look down to where it says Blend if and you'll have two bars with adjustable sliders. The bottom one labeled Underlying layer is the one you want to adjust.

Use the black slider and alt/option click on it to split the black triangle slider in half and ajdust it to your taste in each of the channels "Red" "Blue" and "Green"

http://www.russellbrown.com/tips_tech.html The tutorial my prof. used is probably in this site. If you can't find it, PM me and I'll upload it somewhere for you. (They are in quicktime format)

Alright, so I think it looks okay but I need to emboss and bevel both the text and the square and I'm not sure how to in Illustrator. Sorry for asking so many simple questions but I barely ever use Illustrator.
This is what I have:

EDIT: Nevermind. I just exported it to Photoshop and did it.

I think you should move the R up and over so its a smoother transition into the S. As for the effects, I'm not that experienced in Illustrator.

I mean, I think it would better if you smoothed out the meeting point of the R and the S. Right now, the joint looks pretty radical. If you move the R up and to the right, the tail would meet the S at a less extreme angle.

Alternatively, you could move the R all the way down so the tail meets the tail of the S.

I had some questions about this

How do I make it look slightly more three dimensional with minimal time and effort? I thought about making the darks and lights on the velociraptor more extreme, or adding a shade or two. Is there a way I can select all of a single color in the picture and change it to a different color?
