The Pro Wrestling Thread IV
The Pro Wrestling Thread IV - DREAD IN A THREAD!
Well, another WrestleMania has passed and we believe it is time for a new thread. -All wrestling discussion goes into this thread. -MMA/UFC does not belong in this thread. There is another thread for that. -Keep things civil and on topic. We like to have fun in this thread, but it is not a spam thread. UG rules must be followed just like every other thread. List of PWT regulars to listen to: -Cal (Cadj) -Stephen (stepco12345) -Minky (Minkaro) -Ben (DeliriumBassist) -Lee (Old Lady) Wrestling sites: http://www.wwe.com/ (Obvious) http://www.tnawrestling.com/ (Obvious) http://www.chikarapro.com/ (American Lucha Libre w/ Comedy) http://www.czwrestling.com/ (Hardcore Wrestling) http://www.rohwrestling.com/ (Pure Wrestling) http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/ (Pure Wrestling w/ Comedy) http://www.puroresufan.com/njpw/ (Japanese) Other recommended sites: http://www.f4wonline.com/ (Wrestling Observer) http://www.gerweck.net/ http://www.wrestlezone.com/ http://twitter.com/IamJericho ( >___> ) http://www.jrsbarbq.com/blog/ And in response to "Lol! Wrestling is so fake!!! It's not real! Why you watch?" (Quote edited for common spelling and grammatical errors. ), we say:Quote:
So, behave (This thread is now TVPG, haha , discuss wrestling and have fun. ![]() One more thing: Don't post freaking spoilers!!

i should have seen HBK losing. WWE probably thinks there pretty clever by having him say he's not gonna be retiring anytime soon(monday?) and then have him lose the retirement match.
i guess they just went for the twist as opposed to some subtle foreshadowing... |

Wrestlemania XXVI was pretty average. I'd say around 7/10.
The mainevent was awesome, but the only other match I would personally consider Wrestlemania quality was Jericho/Edge. The Hart/McMahon thing was nonsense, the only people getting screwed that night were the fans. I can see what they were trying to do with 'Bret screwing Vince', but I thought it was executed terribly. It had no need to go on for as long as it did. I lol'd at some of the Hart women calling Vince a coward when he grabbed the tyre iron, despite the fact that they had just watched 5 guys gang-beating him. It's things like that which make me want to cheer the heels. |

They should wrestle with bears, that would be fun!
In other news: I don't know bollocks about wrestling. And I'm not really watching it either. |

It was so disappointing, had the potential to be as good as the Shane vs Vince match at Wrestlemania 17, which was awesome (best ppv ever IMO) but just epically failed ![]() Main event was fantastic as well. Kept me awake that one did haha. |

Did a little review on 'Mania
![]() ShowMiz vs. R-Truth & John Morrison Pretty uninspiring, really thought this could have gone at least 15 minutes. Nobody came out of this looking dominant, it might as well have been pulled from the card. 4/10 Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase vs. Codey Rhodes Too predictable throughout, and making Orton win was just daft and accomplished nothing. Ted and Codey's falling out was nothing much either. 4/10 Money In The Bank All in all, the match was pretty good. Swagger won though, which made no sense as his pre-match booking made him look incredibly weak. He even said on Raw that if he won the MITB he'd cash it in later that night, but didn't. Also, the amount of times Matt Hardy almost won it was terrifying. 7/10 Triple H vs. Sheamus This match was quite boring, and the crowd didn't really seem to care. Triple H managed to no-sell pretty much everything, and made Sheamus look weak throughout. Badly booked. 4/10 CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio Far too short, nowhere near as spectacular as we all expected. Rey won aswell, which pretty much ends the angle right there. A Punk win could extend it by a couple of months at least, and give us the great match they were destined to have. Good while it lasted. 6/10 Mr. McMahon vs. Bret Hart Started off well with Vince bringing our the remaining Harts as his own lumberjacks, but the twist was revealed too soon. The lumberjacks beat up Vince a LOT before handing him to Bret who insisted on beating him with a crowbar for what seemed like an hour. Terrible. 2/10 Chris Jericho vs. Edge Really good, but I think these two could do better with more time. Too many matches at this year's 'Mania, and too much time given to rubbish matches. Unexpected end for most, although I was happy. No idea why they had the post-match brawl then NOT have Swagger cash in MITB. 7/10 Divas Clusterf*ck Tag Team Match Absolutely shocking. I would have been appalled if I hadn't been laughing so hard. Bad sequence of moves at the start, and Vickie Guerrero pulling off the WORST frog splash in history. This was later followed by the worst pin in history. Godawful. 1/10 Batista vs. John Cena Not bad, although Cena had to carry (sometimes literally) Batista in this one. I actually thought Cena might have been dead after that move early on. Batista poorly delivered most moves, as expected. I like the Five Knuckle Shuffle from the top rope, but the finish was nothing new. 6/10 Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels Wow. I expected this match to pale in comparison to last year's match but they just about equalled it. Lots of false finishes and cool spots. I really like the ending with Taker telling Shawn to just stay down, HBK slapping him then the best Tombstone I've ever seen. 9/10 Overall, the card was just too crowded. Some matches could have been Raw main events instead, or just never happened, and left the remaining matches to shine. Some unexpected results though, which was nice. Really liked the pyramid tron too 5/10

I may be hearing things, but as Shawn was walking up the ramp, did he say "I'll be back in 3 weeks" or something to that effect? All I heard was "Something something 3 weeks." Did anyone else catch that?
Also, I can start to see an Edge heel turn after that little stunt after his match. |

"I'll drive my kids nuts in 3 weeks".
Can't wait to see Swagger win the title soon, just a shame I'm on a boycott until Dave wins his belt back. |

I, as well, think the card was overbooked. It seemed like the PPV could have gone one more hour. However, the pyro and the stage looked great.
Oh, and I think we can all agree that the "hogsplash" was one of the most disgraceful things we have ever seen in wrestling. As I said on MSN, ranking the past 5 WMs: 24 > 25 > 23 > 26 > 22

24 > 22 > 23 > 25 > 26.
22 ranks high because of the epic Edge/Foley and Mickie/Trish matches. |
