Sludge

Their is a serious lack of love for Sludge bands around hear, and it's just inexcusable.Sludge is the hybrid of Doom Metal with Hardcore and is some of the most crushing, passionate and mind blowing music around.Snail paced monolithic riffs, drenched in fuzz and full of pure anger and distress.Whats not to love?

The arm and sword of a bastard god

Thou

Corrupted

Grief

Eyehategod

Dystopia

and the list goes on.....

Melvins are indeed sludge, they're pretty much the begging of the genre. I need to check Crowbar out. Don't remember liking The Ocean.

Heard all of those. Yesterday actually.

Anyways, was looking for this really stellar sludge band, but can't find em.

So, how about that No-hope, huh? Get some Crowbar up in here?

I'll take a look.

The only thing I remembered was the vocals being completely grunted and nasty, the only had one song on their myspace too.

hmm, might come to mind later. That Mammoth Grinder song was incredible, they just got a new fan!

Also have any of you heard Mind Eraser-conscious unconscious. Incredible mix of Sludge and Grind,it's only 2 songs but it's an incredible release.Best lead work I've heard in the genre.

Another stellar band.

Baroness are great, Kylesa I haven't heard, don't plan on listening to them. Anyways, let's listen to ONLY THE MOST CRUSHING OF METUHL.

EDIT: Heard of Mind Eraser, haven't heard them ,will check out.

Aren't they hardcore? But they are crushing indeed.

To be honest, Eyehategod is the only thing anyone ever needs. Everyone here, go listen to His Hero Is Gone. Perfect blend of sludge and crust. Oroku too. Neo-crust should fit perfectly here.
